She laughed, holding her hands up defensively. "I'm only joking!! But, hey, I need to be prepared for anything!" She popped up into a karate stance, punching and kicking at the air viciously. "I wanna keep everyone safe and happy!!" She hurtled her first towards him, stopping just in front of his nose. She smiled. "Especially my friends. Adventuring can help me!" Fionna dropped her hands to her sides, and relaxed her body language. "But I guess I can lay off for today. Not like there's anything around here, anyway..." Her eyes drifted back over to the forest, the blue hues sparkling with a hope of maybe finding some kind of monster or villain.

He took her saying that there wasn't anything scary around as though it was good thing, and for him, maybe it was. With a soft smile, he patted Fionna on the shoulder. "That's very brave of you, but there's nothing to worry about. We're safe here at school."

Fionna turned her attention back to him, just as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Heh, yeah, I guess." Suddenly, her stomach growled, and she blushed. "Uhm... Got any sweets on you? I came out here right after class instead of getting food." She grinned sheepishly at him.

"Fionna," he replied with a chuckle, "you know me. I always carry sweets." He removed his hand from his shoulder to search through his pockets, coming up with two small packets of Unmeltable Chocolate (a special invention of his father's) and a lollipop with a spiral pattern that spun nearly hypnotically.

Her eyes sparkled as Gumball withdrew his sweets, as she knew he would. She did indeed know him enough to ask for sweets instead of anything else from him. Her eyes locked onto the lollipop, and she reached for it, not wanting to snatch it away from him like her instincts told her to. "Dude, you're so awesomely full of awesomeness!" Fionna took the lollipop from him, and happily began to lick at its sweet, swirlyness, much like a little girl would.

He chuckled, thanking her for the compliment. "Do you like it? The moving pattern is new, and there were concerns that it would interfere with the flavor..."

Between suckles, Fionna nodded, a sort of squirly smile on her face. "Of course I love it!!!!" She munched on the top of the lollipop.

He mentally noted her comment, making sure to remember so he could tell his father that the lollipops were a go. Just to make sure, he asked, "You aren't just saying that because you have a sweet tooth, are you?"

Fionna glanced up at him, pouting a bit over her lolli. "What? You think I wouldn't give an honest opinion about your candy? Gumball, I am highly offended." she stated in with feigned disappointment. She bit a rather large chunk off of the candy, and began to suck on it in her mouth, which caused her to spit as she spoke, "Especially since I know how important your family's candy is to you."
