Fenris laughed. "A tail WOULD be entertaining." He wasn't quite joking either. It was hard to speak to wolves, missing the very essential aspect of a tail. Alpha hated it: It meant more time that Fenris had to TALK to him, rather than just moving and saying a whole sentence with his body.

Celty was a bit horrified, Fenris was actually serious!! He WANTED a tail!! "Are you sure that you want a tail Fenris? It will probably not be easily reversible."

Fenris nodded. "I realize. But having a tail? That'd be pretty cool. Could you really do that? And maybe with a set of ears too?" Fenris looked at Shinra, completely deadpan serious.

"Of course we can do that. It would be fairly simple to that temporarily. But if you would like them to be permanent it might take a little longer. Are you sure you would like that?"

Fenris nodded. It may possibly get him teased more often, and definitely would make him more noticable around his fellow students.
But it would also make him more wolf-like. And as close as he could get to the wolves that were practically his family, the more he wanted to.
And anyway, what self-respecting person WOULDN'T want a tail and ears? They'd be fun even if he wasn't practically a wolf.

He laughed and shook his head. "Just sticking a tail on him won't do the trick-- he has to be able to move it. The nervous system has to be connected completely. Just a potion wouldn't be enough. It will take a long time and probably be rather painful!" His tone was cheerful and almost excited for the experiment.

"Be careful not to scare the patient Mr. Kishitani!" Celty sighed, and hoped that Fenris was going to be okay. She may have to remind Shinra that Fenris WAS only human. He wouldn't be able to stand extensive experimentation.

"Good, good." Inordinately pleased by this, Shinra rooted around in his pocket and came up with a small notebook. "When are you free? The first few sessions won't be a big deal, but perhaps we could arrange for most of the heavy surgery to take place at the beginning of winter break, so you have time to recover before classes start again?"

"Ah, of course, love come first." Despite the cheesiness of that statement, he actually seemed quite earnest about it. "So would you rather have a dead animal's tail attached to you, or would you like us to try to grow some sort of appendage out of your tailbone and go from there?"
