Count D's Office.

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris nodded, sighing. "Yes professor. And, just so you know, I didn't ride them, I never have. Fai and Yayoi did. I simply admire them. They're great examples of society not accepting something, just because it is different." The Count could tell that this point strikes very close to home for Fenris himself.

[Count D]

Sure, the Count could tell this fact, but he could care less. Humans were selfish and reckless, and Fenris and his friends interfering with the Thestrals' way of life was a good example of such. He sighed, simply ignoring Fenris' attachment. "Despite who rode them, the whole situation was one that should not have happened without proper supervision. I'm afraid I'm going to have to take some points, Fenris." The Count did have a job to do, after all. "I do love the idea, and I will do it in the near future. But even then, it will be a delicate situation. I am a professional. You are a student, with much to learn." He may have sounded cold, but it was simple fact. The students could have been harmed, and then where would they be?

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris knew that, if he was a wolf, his ears would be flat against his head and his tail would have slunk between his legs. "I apologize Professor." It wasn't the points he was sorry for losing. It was the trust of the one teacher he'd hoped to impress. The former Professor Fluttershy had simply looked over his knowledge, and even him as an individual. He'd been excited when a new professor had been announced, almost giddy with joy. And now, by mentioning the Thestrals, he'd quite possibly ruined that chance.

"So... Your cat. That's quite a bit of unique magic." He was obviously trying to change the topic.

[Count D]

Count D's eyes lit up. "Oh? You think so? It's my own special spell~" he cooed, maneuvering over to the boy and cat. He stroked the feline affectionately. "An illusion I would use on muggles that would visit my shop. Isn't it spectacular?" The cat mewed and pawed at Fenris' tie.

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris blinked. "You own a shop? How so? What do you sell?" He was interested. He'd been looking for a line of work once he got out of Hogwarts. Maybe he could... Get a job in the Count's shop? That would be cool. He definitely wanted to work with creatures...

[Count D]

The Count giggled; he so loved talking about his work! He poured them both another cup of tea, and took a seat on his desk in front of the boy, delicately dipping a tea cake into his cup. "I own a petshop in the muggle world, you see. In Chinatown, which is a little place in Los Angeles, California. Muggles and wizards alike visit my shop looking for the rarest, most magnificent animals in the known world. I do sell animals, yes... But my motto is that I sell love, hopes, and dreams." Count D smiled brightly, so very happy to be discussing his line of work.

[Fenris Candor]

"Love, hopes, and dreams?" Fenris questioned. "Is that a reference to the pets, or something more? I can see how pets, to some people, would supply all of those things. The wolf pack that lives near my house certainly became like a second family to me." He gave the Professor a smile. "It must be fascinating, working with muggles voluntarily. My parents were squibs - I only got to hear them complaining about how they were 'forced' to work with them. But I tend to find them fascinating." He sipped a bit of his tea. "After Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies is my favorite class!"

[Count D]

The Count's smile turned sly, almost catlike. With a sip of his tea, he chuckled. "Something more, I suppose you could say..." He wouldn't elaborate; a little mystery was good for a young mind. "Muggles are fascinating. Humans in general are. I, personally despise them." He was blunt, but honest; he hated almost everything about humans, and yet, they caught him by surprise constantly, so he tolerated them. He spun his thin hair around a slender finger, before crossing his legs neatly. He must have looked very womanly right about then.

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris blinked. He HAD looked pretty feminine, but that wasn't what had caught his eye. "Wait... You're human, aren't you Professor?"

[Count D]

Count's eyes widened a bit as he realized what he said, but then, he relaxed, his smile never faltering. "Why, as far as you know, of course I am. I'm aloud to hate myself, yes?" He sipped his tea casually, acting as if nothing had happened.

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris's eyes narrowed a bit as he focused. "You're allowed to hate yourself, yes... But... You're not human, are you, Professor?" He'd seen the widening eyes, as brief as they were. "I can tell that you're lying."

[Count D]

"Well then you're just the smartest little boy in the world, aren't you?" The Count chuckled, before moving off of his desk. "Are any of human, Fenris? We're wizards, which seems to be a whole other race." He was calm; no trick this boy tried to pull would work. The Count was smarter than that, than him.

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris laughed. "Not exactly. Who's to say that 'squibs' aren't just muggles? That would explain a lot. Who's to say that we wizards are a different race entirely?" He paused. "I've always wished to meet another humanoid creature though. Werewolves are very rare, though they are my favorites. And Vampires are merely rumors..." He laughed. "What classifies another species though? Will I be another species when Doctor Kishitani grafts a set of ears and a tail onto me?"

[Count D]

Count D shrugged, an amused look on his face. "Vampires... Are not rumors, dear boy. I assure you of that." He stroked Ten-chan's head affectionately, earning him a loving nuzzle. "I classify what I believe to be different species."

[Fenris Candor]

Fenris's eyes widened. "You've met a Vampire? That's rather amazing!" He leaned forward a bit, for the first time letting his face crack into a smile.
