Kurogane stood staring out of the window looking down at the dark grounds beneath him, it was the early hours of the morning but he didn't seem to want to sleep. The fire was slowlt dying but Kuro didn't seem to notice.
Lost in thought as he stared through the window. One hand pressed against the glass leanining against the cool clear glass.

It was something about the moon, Tomoyo thought, that woke her from her dream. She made her way past the other girls' beds to the window, cracking the curtain to peer out over the grounds. The rustle of the curtain and moonlight spilling in caused the other girls in the room to stir, however, and she quickly stepped back, murmuring an apology. Still, something drew her to look outside, and she didn't want to risk waking them again. She silently slid her feet into a pair of slippers and tiptoed downstairs.
In the common room, the first thing she saw was a tall figure standing at the window. She pressed herself against the wall for a moment, about to sneak back upstairs, when she recognized the other student.
"Kurogane?"

Kurogane looked over his shoulder when he heard someone say his name. It was Tomoyo, his new 'sister'
"Shouldn't you be asleep?" he said watching her for a moment. He turned his attention back to the window and the full moon, after a few minutes he turned away from the window moving to sit down on one of the chairs in the common room.

"I was." Her desire to check outside was fading away, and being replaced with worry for her new 'brother'. "What are you worrying about?" She followed him over to the chairs and chose one for her self, tucking her legs up under herself.

"Nothing......" he said not even having to think about the answer, it was obvious that something what bothering him, and probably quite obvious to her what it was. But he never made things easy, She had never seen him cry since it happened, he seemed to refuse to let people see him show any emotion.
He shifted a little uncomfortably in the seat, avoiding eye contact with her.

"If you say so," she murmured, not believing a word. She laced her fingers together, striping her hands black-and-white with moonlight and shadow. She had braided her hair before bed, but loosely, and now locks of hair in the front were escaping and hiding her face. They sat in silence for a moment.
Guilt swept over her. He'd lost his parents and been forced to move in with her family, and what had she ever done to reach out to him? Sensing his discomfort, she almost rose and left, but forced herself to stay in her seat and raised her head, dark violet eyes staring at him through her bangs.
"You can tell me," she encouraged softly, contradicting her earlier statement.

He glanced at her for a moment, then looked back towards the window. Hearing her say that he could talk to her.
Could he really talk to her? they werent related by blood, they were only 'family' now because her family had taken him in. They hadn't really spoken much since he'd started living with her, apart from normal pleasantries. He didnt know anything about her really, she seemed nice enough.
"Thanks for the offer.... but i'm not the sort of person to share things," said Kurogane "and i don't know you that well... yet anyway," he said sighing.

"Yet." She affirmed, nodding. They had time. Surely he'd open up to her once she'd shown him that she was trustworthy. "If you ever need someone to talk to..." she let the sentence trail off, assuming he'd understand. She knew he was quiet, but everyone needed something to talk about, right?

Watanuki walked into the common room. He just had a nightmare and his face looked pale. He didn't have many nightmares but still it's not something you look forward to.
He stopped as he realized that there were other people in the common room. "Oh, hi Tomoyo, Kurogane," he said with a clumsy smile. "Ah, am I interrupting?"

Kurogane was about to make some comment, but heard Watanuki enter the room. He closed his mouth and looked over at Watanuki.
"no your not interuppting," he said before Tomoyo could say anything to the contrary. He stood moving towards the window again.

Watanuki sensed the vibe and decided on not to ask anything. He's still distraught by his nightmare but he forced a cheery voice. "I'm going to the kitchen tomorrow. What do you guys want me to cook for you?"

"Ah, Watanuki!" her forlorn expression lifted into a smile and she waved at her older classmate. She almost asked if he was also having trouble sleeping, but at the last moment decided the question intrusive and just returned her hands to her lap. "That's quite a kind offer!" she said when he mentioned cooking. "Anything you make is wonderful. You have quite the talent!"

Kurogane let Tomoyo do the talking, only half listening. He only really tuned in when Watanuki said that he'd make something. Kurogane knew Watanuki was an excellent cook and had tasted his cooking once or twice. But with the way he was currently feeling he wasn't sure if he'd be able to eat much.... he wouldn't want Watanuki to go to all that trouble for most of it to be wasted.
He decided to stay quiet for now, listening to the to.
