Name: Arthur Kirkland
Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Gender: male
Age and year/Age and job: 14/4th year
Appearance: Arthur has short, messy, blonde hair, green eyes, and large eyebrows. (picture: i52.tinypic.com/2vxne5k.jpg ) He's about average height for his age (whatever average is for a 14 year old boy)
Personality: Arthur is a very cynical, sarcastic person. He fancies himself as a gentleman, though his foul mouth and delinquent tendencies say otherwise. He aims to be a proper British gentleman, but for now, he is still a bit of a punk. He is awkward and easily flustered, and has a hard time making and keeping friends. He acts as if this doesn't bother him, but deep down he is a lonely person looking for a friend.
He has a strong love of magic, and loves magical creatures such as fairies and unicorns. He's very intelligent, studious person who takes his school work and rules seriously. He can be a bit condescending to other people, but it's not meant to be malicious. It's more of a self defense mechanism as he has trouble trusting people on a personal level. He is very bad at expressing his own feelings and emotions, and chooses to hide them behind a scowl. Nothing cheers him up better than a good cup of tea.
Canon history: In Hetalia, Arthur represents the United Kingdom. He is a member of the allies during the World Wars. He is a former pirate and empire who eventually lost all of his colonies and was left a simple island nation.

AU history: Arthur was born and raised in London, England. He is the youngest of 4 boys in a well known wizarding family. Despite having several brothers, he was always very lonely. His brothers constantly picked on him and his parents were very strict. He had constant pressure on him to be perfect, but was always criticized for not being as talented as his brothers. His only real friends growing up were his "imaginary" friends. Other than that, his childhood was rather uneventful. He filled his free time with reading and crafts such as embroidery.
His first few years at Hogwarts were uneventful as well. He always knew he'd go to Hogwarts, and while he acted as if he didn't care, deep down he was excited. It would be a chance to really study magic, and possibly make friends. Unfortunately, he ended up with more enemies than friends, thus remaining a lonely boy. Arthur's ultimate fears are loneliness, vulnerability, and abandonment. His boggart would have something to do with this, possibly him seeing himself alone, scared, and crying. (I'm still trying to think of exactly what)
House: It's pretty much fandom consensus that he is a Syltherin, but I think he could fit in a variety of houses and would like to just see where he ends up.
Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: His strengths are probably in curses or jinxes as that is what he does in canon, and his weakness is probably potions as it is similar to cooking (which he is bad at)
Wand: An oddly-formed juniper wand. In length, it is eight and one-quarter inches long. This wand's core is unicorn mane.

Arthur nodded to himself as he went through his check list, making sure he had everything he needed to return to school. The start of a the new school term had mixed blessings for him. Being at Hogwarts meant he was able to study one of the few things he truly loved: magic. It was also an opportunity to distance himself from his family. While those were certainly blessings, the fact that he would be stuck with several other students who weren't fond of him (not that he was very fond of them, either) was not something he looked forward to. Seeing all of the other students laughing and having a good time with each other also served as a reminder of how... alone he was.
Not that he needed friends! Not at all! He was Arthur Kirkland! He didn't need friends. He was just fine alone.
“Perhaps one friend would be all right,” he muttered to himself as he checked off the final item on his list. “Not that you have been able to find one in your previous three years at Hogwarts.” He sighed and put his list away. He was officially done packing, and soon he would be returning to Hogwarts for his 4th year.
