Marshall checked the room once again, making sure no one was hiding away. It was one of the many towers at the school, but this one was barely used. Dust had gathered on all the abandoned bookshelves and desks; spiderwebs clung to the ceiling, catching the last rays of the sinking sun.
The tower was used for storage and looked as if no one had touched it for ages-- it was perfect. There weren't many spots where one could be alone in the school. No matter how cavernous the old castle seemed, it was always filled with students. They were everywhere!
Great Hall? Bam! Students. Hallways? Bam! Students. Room of Requirement? Bam! Students. Classrooms? Ew, why would you want to spend any more time than necessary in them?
It had only taken Marshall a couple weeks day or two to find the unused tower... And now! Alone time! Marshall sighed happily, hopping onto one of the desks, pulling a letter from home from his back pocket. The letter had arrived two weeks ago, he just... didn't... really... want to open it. Letters from home were few and far in between... Maybe because he never bothered to send one back. He and his mother weren't on the best of terms and he and his father didn't talk. Like... At all. What? No, shut up. They were a happy family! That's why he still got letters. Duh.

Celty hurried up the stairs to the abandoned tower, wanting to be alone. She had been searching for a place to be alone and had nearly forgotten the tower she had discovered her first year. This was where she had gone to be alone. And she was here again, just escaping the world.

Light footsteps alerted Marshall (Hey! Hide that paper! Now! Now! Nownownownownow!) to the presence of another person. Normally, he wouldn't have heard them, but he was about to read a heartwrenching normal letter from home. And he wasn't about to allow some first year walk in on him crying reading. Marshall Lee doesn't cry read. So yeah. That's it.
He crumpled the letter, stuffing it quickly into his pocket and jumped off the desk. No wait no! Natural. Right. He was supposed to look natural. Like he came up to this place all the time! Well he kind of did... But like it was normal to come up to this sort of place all the time! So! Natural! Natural like the leaves on the trees in the ground and--gah! How was he supposed to do that?! He tried to jum p back on the desk, but tipped over an out of place chair, stumbling back over a table, causing all three of them to loudly crash to the floor.
Oh yeah. Totally natural.

Celty ran up the last two stairs and into the room, worried that someone was getting hurt! She ran in on Marshall Lee Graven the most annoying, rude, and irresponsible student ever to have attended Hogwarts. She was almost loathe to speak to him. Maybe she should just pretend like she didn't see the idiot sprawled all over the ground and underneath a chair and half a desk. Yeah....maybe he won't notice if she just leaves....

"Yo." Marshall lifted a hand in what was supposed to be a friendly, waving gesture, but, in reality, looked pretty pathetic. He propped himself up on his elbows, attempting to get up, but alas! To no avail! He sank back down looking up at the girl that had just entered the room. She was older than him, he remembered seeing her his first year. I mean... How can you miss a girl without a head? It's pretty damn hard. She was one of those pesky Gryffindor students. What a shame. She had such potential for a Slytherin! And she was pretty fine looking too-- once again. For a girl without a head. That part was just a bit creepy, but hey. He had some pretty... uh... Interesting friends.
"Wassup?"

She used her magic to levitate the furniture off of him, responding to his question. "I came up here to be alone, what are you doing here? Are you hurt?" She walked further into the room and knelt next to him, wary of how he would react to her. He hadn't seemed repulsed yet...but he also hadn't really said much.

Marshall laughed, not bothering to sit up. There wasn't really much point to it if she was just gonna come kneel down to his level. "Not much, I guess, huh? Trying to be alone, too. Didn't really work, huh?" He propped himself up on his elbows, staring at her he-- Uh... Where her head should be. The smoke was just...Pooling out from her neck. It was actually kinda cool... Just how did it work? She didn't seem like a ghost or dead or anything like that, but... How could be a human without a head? Did uh... What was her name? "So, hey! What's your name?" He had been going to the same school as her for his entire Hogwarts career, but he had never learned her name, he just heard everyone refer to her as 'that headless chick'.

"My name is Celty. You're Marshall Lee, right?" The writing was drifting up from a magical quill pen she had. "Are you hurt? Do you need any help getting up?" She was beginning to ignore her own chagrin at having to talk to someone supposedly evil like Marshall and she was actually a little worried about his safety! "I help in the hospital wing, I know how to heal injuries."
