Name: Alfred Fitzgerald Jones

Age and year/Age and job: 11, 1st year (Ima start from the beginning)
Appearance: Blonde hair, blue eyes, NANTUCKET, glasses, and a goofy grin
Personality: Alfred F. Jones, at best, is a happy-go-lucky heroic wannabe who won’t hesitate to jump headlong into a conflict in order to protect the defenseless. This will usually lead him to break rules willy nilly if he deems it necessary (though more often than not it happens because he doesn’t THINK before he acts when in Hero Mode). He’s the type of person who is fiercely loyal to the ones he cares about.
At worst though, Alfred is more calculating and ambitious, refusing to play second fiddle to ANYONE. When there’s no damsels to distract him from his goals, he’s shrewd and quite the self-preservationist, refusing to put himself into a situation that has few benefits. He is also incredibly competitive and loves having rivals in addition to friends. In addition, his darker and more cunning personality comes out when he’s confronted with something particularly dangerous.

AU history: Young Alfred F. Jones grew up in an orphanage in Salem, Massachusetts with very little recollection of the time before he was taken in. He did not know he was a wizard, and he didn’t find out until one day he accidentally blew up the orphanage’s outhouse in an effort of trying to protect some kid from being bullied. Fortunately for Alfred, a wizard was there investigating the presence of Magic and promptly adopted the destructive waif, taking him to England to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He’s stricken with phasmophobia, meaning he has a morbid fear of ghosts. As such, his boggart is a ghost of the one who adopted him, because he not only fears ghosts, he fears losing the ones he loves.
House: Stereotypically the Hero would be put in Gryffindor, which emphasizes the traits of courage to the point of recklessness. They also tend to engage in pointless heroics. Although it would be interesting to play this character from a Slytherin point of view which would mean he would be more ambitious, shrewd, cunning, a strong leader, achievement-oriented, and have a higher sense of self-preservation. As a habitual historical rper, I might occasionally slip into this mode from the sheer fact America is a manipulator to the Russian degree. (Darn Cold War persona...OTL)
Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: He excels in defensive and offensive magic, though he sometimes lacks finesse and control in these subjects…meaning that if you want to stand next to him during class, be prepared to leave with certain organs rearranged and eyebrows singed off.
Wand: A 10 in wand made of the almost extinct American Elm and with the tail feather of a great eagle as its core.

Alfred frowned, scratching the back of his blonde mop of hair sheepishly as he looks upon his flustered friend. “Gee Iggy, I’m sorry I burned your eyebrows off, but you shouldn’t have interrupted my incantation. But hey, you look better without ‘em, dude!” Here he flashes a reassuring smile and thumbs up at the cranky Brit. “Caterpillars exterminated!” Granted deep down he felt bad about what he did, the whole situation was just too damn funny to not crack a joke at. He knew he would regret it later though. The American wisely chose at that moment to vamoose and leave the peeved Brit to his colorful cursing.
