"Jarvey," Rita stated without looking up from the book she was currently reading. She had already secluded herself in the back corner of the room away from the other students, and had been reading an advanced book on Arithimancy. "Ministry of Magic classification, XXX"
A pause.
"....Rita Mordio, fourth year, slytherin." She introduced herself apathetically and flipped another page in her book.

"Very good!" Fiona said, happy to have someone volunteer. It was always so awkward when no one wanted to answer and you had to call on someone. She was especially pleased to see that it was one of her Slytherin students as well. She never liked having a bad impression of anyone, and certainly not a bad impression of a whole group. So what if Ms. Mordio didn't seem to be taking much interest in the class, she was at least participating. "Now, ah, as Ms. Mordio said, Jarvey's have a XXX ratting under Ministry laws. That means that they are perfectly safe for a competent witch or wizard to handle. If you did handle a Jarvey irresponsibly, the consequences would be much less than if you had mishandled a Hippogriff, another XXX creature, so they are on the lower end of the scale danger-wise. Its best know feature, I'm sure you know by now, is its ability to talk." She beamed out at the students, happy to be sharing her information. In her opinion class was progressing quite well. It was her next move that was the mistake. Never the best tempered of creatures, this Jarvey was in a particularly foul mood from residing in the cage so long, and when Fiona unlatched the door to gather it up, it took its chance for freedom. Dashing between the young professor's fingers and out among the students, It proceeded to howl insults as it looked for a way out.

Fenris winced as he saw the teacher reaching for the cage. It was never a good idea to let out an angry Jarvey. Sure enough, as soon as the thins saw a chance for freedom it bolted, howling insults as it ran around. Fenris stood as it came near him, crouched, and caught it as it ran by through grabbing its tail. He stood with its feet pinned firmly to its sides and looked at the Professor. "Fenris Candor. Fourth year Slytherin."

The young girl ran through the hallways, happy, at least, that no one was around to get in her way.
"I'm late, I can't believe I'm late! I thought I knew my way around! It was those darn staircases! I thought Care of Magical Creatures was supposed to be outside!"
Finally, after stopping at multiple doors, Charlotte arrived at the correct one. Taking a deep breath, she adjusted her books and tidied up her bright pink pigtails, straightening her vest as well. If she was going to be late, she had better make a good first impression.
The Hufflepuff opened the door, as quietly as she could, but the wooden door was very misleading, definitely lighter than anticipated, promptly slamming into the wall. Charlotte cringed, looking around the classroom to see if anyone noticed that. Who was she kidding? Of course they noticed it; the door slamming had only sounded like a clap of thunder.

The squeak of the door scared Fenris. Without thinking, he flinched. This loosened his arms just enough for the Jarvey to escape. Startled even more, Fenris jumped backwards, and the Jarvey was free.

Honestly all this noise was ridiculous. There was no way she'd be able to focus on reading if this rucus. Someone remind her why she decided to take this class again? Sighing, Rita shut her text book with a loud, audible 'thud' and stood up out of her seat. With a quick motion her wand was out, and pointed swiftly at the jarvey.
"Immobulus!" She shouted, and with a sudden blue flash it stopped moving.

Everything was quite for a moment, and Fiona finally let the hand that had been outstretched since the moment the Jarvey escaped drop. She cleared her throat and fought off the urge to hide behind her hair. This was only mild chaos, after all, she could handle that. Motioning for her newest student to take a seat and smiling encouragingly at her (she seemed a little nervous), she went and collected the motionless Jarvey from the floor. "Um, thank you very much, Ms.Mordio. You can have five points for Slytherin." She murmured "I think... I think we'll keep our friend like this for the rest of class. So..." She held up the petrified Jarvey for the class to see "Can anyone tell me some physical differences between a Jarvey and a normal ferret?" Best to just keep the class moving.

Charlotte made a beeline to her seat, trying not to make anymore of a mess than the class already seemed to be. She peaked out at the girl that had stopped the Jarvey... The teacher had awarded her points for Slytherin... So, clearly, she was a Slytherin! Wait... Didn't they have a reputation? So maybe the girl seemed kind of distant, but that didn't necessarily mean that she was mean or anything!
Not that I think she's mean! It's just...
Charlotte sank lower in her seat, trying to escape her thoughts.
Concentrate on the class, Charlotte! Concentrate!

Fenris sat and stared at the immobile Jarvey. Normally he didn't like pulling attention to himself, but... "Jarveys generally resemble overgrown ferrets. Primarily, they eat rodents, but are exceptionally good at hunting Garden Gnomes. Most wizards and witches employ them as such hunters."

Even through all the excitement in the classroom, Shion nearly throwing the door to the room open would have been quite noticeable. "Oh my God, I am so sorry Professor!!! So very sorry!" The panicked girl rushed towards the teacher, clutching her books desperately to her chest. "I know I'm like, a half hour late, but my hawk thought today would be the most wonderful day to drop dead rat bodies all over my floor while I was sleeping! I had to clean it up, and then I had to..." Shion rambled on, her face a deep shade of red from embarrassment.
Scoping out the sunrise on the Quidditch Field is close enough to cleaning up dead rat bodies, I suppose. she thought through her desperate act.

After casting a glance (that may have come off as a glare) at the pink haired girl, she sat down and went straight back to reading her book like nothing had happened at all, only really paying half attention to the teacher. It was then that Shion had burst into the room, rambling on something about dead rats or whatever. Sighing under her breath, Rita rolled her eyes and flipped to the next page in her book.

Watanuki looked at Rita with a grateful look. He was thankful for her quick wit in handling the Jarvey. When it fled from Fenris' hands it flew past him, knocking him off his seat. He smiled to her to try showing her his appreciation but she seemed to be focused on her book. Watanuki didn't mind and turned his attention back to the Professor.
He wondered what they are going to do with the Jarvey. He certainly hope that they don't have to take care of it as homework.

((FFFFFT last time I underestimate the speed of the flock-posts OTL))
Feli swung her feet in front of her before looking up at the tall boy who'd help the cute little pink pen in his hand. smiling brightly, she nodded and took it from him, tapping it on one of her books and watching him sit back down. His name was...Watanuki. She remembered him from the past few years. Felicianna let out a little giggle and returned her semi-flustered attention to the teacher as she spoke and asked questions to the class. Feli didn't pay much attention to what she actually said, though. her eyes focused on the cute little creature in the cage.
As a Slytherin girl answered the teacher, Feli focused her eyes on the dangling pen, pretending it was patting the little ferret on the head. Feli lay her cheek on her palm and giggled to herself, imagining the pen to be petting the animal.
Her smile faded once the angry pet was let loose, and immediately Feli brought herself and her oversized robes onto the table to curl up and hide from possibly being attacked by it--not that it really would, she guessed. As the Jarvey scuttled around and eventually came into the grasp of another student, Feli let out a high-pitched shriek of terror. Her eyes never left the animal when it darted from the boy's grasp and eventually fell prey to an immobilization spell. It wasn't until the teacher had picked it up and began speaking again that Feli deemed it safe to return to her seat. It as a few minutes after that that Feli took note of the new students in the classroom. to her relief, she wouldn't be the most outstandingly late student here this year.

Fiona liked to consider herself a very calm person, but this class was just one thing after another! Everyone was late, Jarveys' were running wild (but were thankfully now petrified), students were shrieking, and now one more student had come in with what she found to be a every so slightly too enthusiastic excuse. Being as soft-spoken as she was, it was hard to sound angry or even annoyed, but she might have been just a little short with her quick dismissal and instruction to take a seat.
"Everyone, please take a moment to get settled. Mr. Candor has given a absolutely perfect explanation of a Jarvey's use in magical society. I think we can move on now." She turned back to her desk and placed the Jarvey back in its cage, although leaving the small creature frozen. Just in case. She took a deep breath before facing her students once more, determined to make the last half of the class better (and less chaotic) than the first.
"So, ah, I think we should cover proper classroom procedure now. First, no loud noises when animals are on display. I think we all know why now. Also, if a creature does get loose, pleas stay calm." She paused to look around the classroom and gauge her students reaction.

Shion could perfectly understand the teacher’s frustration; the class was in chaos before Shion had even arrived. She took an empty seat, close to the back, and slumped in her chair. Oh, how embarrassing…
