Professor Fiona Fluttershy's class on the Care of Magical Creatures. All students are required to have: 1. One copy of [/i] Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them by Newt Scamander. 2. Quill of the standard size (Students should note that ownership of a quill made from a protected creature will result in twenty points from their respective house and confiscation of the quill). 3. Parchment paper for notes. 4. Ink. 5. A mind ready for learning. Fiona thought that the last line was a nice touch. She also thought that she was rather lucky to have drawn her home house for her first class of the day. Less so perhaps for Slytherin but... well, she shouldn't judge. She was sure there were perfectly delightful people in Slytherin, she just had to meet them. Perhaps one of her best students this year might even be a Slytherin! And with the class now open to everyone, she would have even more of an opportunity to introduce young minds to the new and unknown, especially the muggle-bornes. She was less than pleased to be in the classroom for the first day, but that was probably for the best. She could relocate her classes outside when they moved on to the larger creatures. As she didn't use the classroom much, it was mostly empty but for the tables and chairs, as well as a small cage with a blue cloth thrown over the top. The occupants shifted inside, and she gave the cage a light tap. "Hush now, don't worry. They should be here soon" She said, waiting to see just who would walk in first.

Watanuki bounced along his way to the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. His arms flailing around him. The things in his hands (two books, a quill, three rolls of parchment, and a bottle of ink) didn't get thrown somehow.
The day was bright, the air felt great, he just cooked his own lunch in the kitchen... It had been a great day.
As he reached the doors, Watanuki slowed down. He moved the things in his right hand into his left hand, almost dropping them, and pull them close to his chest. With his right hand he knocked the door and opened it.
"Good morning, Professor Fluttershy." He smiled broadly.

"Oh! Hello! I mean, good morning!" She meant for it to sound loud and welcoming, but it was really more of a whisper. "Y-you can have a seat anywhere, alright?" She smiled and gestured at the empty desks all around her. She managed to raise her voice a little more when she caught sight of the two books in Watanuki's hand and asked "Have you had a chance to read any of your textbook yet?"

Francis literally dashed through the hallways. What a beautiful day it was~ He might have gotten up too late, but he didn't find a reason why he should run to make it to the classroom. Running meant making his hair all messy again and it wasn't worth it after spending so much on getting it to fall just right.
On the way to the classroom, he was held up by a few female students. And it would be very rude to walk past by without at least complimenting them non? Francis always find a way to be late, either he spent too much time on his hair and looks or he forgot the time as he flirted with girls.
He was surprisingly just in time and opened the door to the classroom. "Bonjour, proffesor~ May I say, you look lovely today~" he greeted, ingnoring the rest of his surroundings.

Whatever else Fiona had been about to say was cut off by a surprised squeak when Francis entered the room. She wasn't at all sure what to make of the brash student or his complement, and instead retreated behind the fall of her bangs her voice dropping back to almost inaudible softness. "T-thank you..." she stuttered. The student was handsome, but was that any way to address a teacher? It was probably just her insecurity talking but... well she might as well get on with class. She smiled shakily at the student and gestured to the empty seats before scuttling to the front of the class and practically hiding behind her desk, leaving poor Watanuki out in the cold. "Class will begin now, um... I suppose anyone who's late can... um... make their way in later. Yes. Now, does anyone have any experience with magical creatures?"

Watanuki was about to answer Professor Fluttershy's question when Francis came in his usual pompous way.
Oh well.
Watanuki shrugged it off and took a seat. He didn't get bothered by the infamous 6th year. Let alone hate him. This guy can never hate someone anyway.
The class had begun. Watanuki raised his hand, not too high, and answered the Professor's next question. "Yes, professor. We have learned about Flobberworms, Salamanders, and other creatures."

Francis smiled at the blush of the professor. The woman was adorable. "You're welcome~" he said smiling. He winked at her before walking over to a desk. He took a seat and decided not to delay the class any further. He put down his books and focussed on the class.

A few seconds into the class, a ball of flapping scrolls and oversized fabric tubled through the door, landing on her face. Whimpering, Feli sat up quickly and rubbed her nose with her sleeve. "Ve..." She looked around the classroom and blushed from embarassment, quickly hurrying to pick up all of her supplies that had gone a mile in each direction when she fell.

Her voice once again picking up pitch, Fiona launched into her quick summery of the class. "Good! I'm happy that some of you have a little experience, but it isn't necessary for our class. Everything you need to know will be in your book, or from your notes, that way everyone can participate. We will be working with some larger creatures later on this years, but for right now we'll be focusing on the smaller, more unusual ones. So, i'd like to introduce you all to the first creature we will be studying." Fiona was in the processes of reaching for the blue cloth that covered the cage on her desk when her newest student tumbled into the classroom. "Oh! Are you all right?" She squeaked, reemerging from behind her desk to help the girl collect her supplies.

Feli looked up at the woman and nodded, repeatedly expressing her apologies as she pushed everything onto a table. "I-i'm fine!" She said quickly before returning to her stream of sorries

"No, no it's fine!" Fiona countered her apology for apology, and it probably would have gone on like that had there not been a resounding crash from the cage on her desk. Whatever was in there was clearly getting antsy. With a final reassurance to her student, she turned back to her desk. "Now, what was I saying? Oh, yes. This is our first creature!" Finally, she pulled aside the cloth and revealed...
A disappointingly normal, if rather large, ferret.
At least it was, until it fixed its beady little eyes on the class and began to speak in a high pitched squeak. "Sloooow! People so sloooow! Clumsy!" Its last comment seemed to be directed at he young Hufflepuff girl. "Now, now, don't be rude." Fiona murmured to the ferret-thing. "If everyone will turn to page 88, you can see a medieval drawing of our guest, who is, or course, a Jarvey."

Fenris wandered through the halls. Yes, it was his first year, and he was still being late to classes. It didn't matter to most professors, especially the first day of class. Tomorrow he might be early. Maybe. Adjusting his messenger bag over his shoulder, he turned the doorknob in front of him and entered the room. On the professor's desk sat a Jarvey. Or, at least, he supposed it was a Jarvey, if he could remember what he'd read. He started to slink around to an empty desk, hoping the professor was too busy with the Jarvey or the flustered Italian girl, to notice the slender, sullen Slytherin entering the room.

Watanuki hurried to Felicianna as she stumbled to her table. His right foot stepped on something. It was a pen. Maybe it was Felicianna's. He picked it up and walked towards Felicianna's table
"Are you okay?" He handed out the pen. "Is this yours?"

Looking up from the Jarvey, Fiona caught sight of her newest student as he sneaked over to an empty seat. She smiled at him and gave a small wave, but nothing else. He didn't seem like he really wanted to be noticed and Fiona was happy to oblige. It did no good to force attention on a reluctant animal if you eventually wanted to be its friend, and in her philosophy the same rules applied to students. It also seemed as if the two Hufflepuffs were talking, and hopefully that would help the young girl sooth any injured pried she might have. Anything, just as long as all of her students were happy. How could you learn if you were in a miserable mood? The Jarvey rattled its cage again and she returned her attention to it. "Um, now. Can anyone tell me what the Ministry of Magics classification for a Jarvey is? Oh! And I forgot to take roll! So, um, whoever answers first please state your name, year and house, and we'll go from there, ok? I think I've had some of you before?"

Fenris almost raised his hand, then paused. If this teacher was going to ignore him, then that was a blessing, and he didn't want to ruin it. However, this was Care of Magical Creatures, one of the only classes he paid attention to and thoroughly enjoyed. And so he made a promise. If no one spoke up, he would oblige the teacher with her definition of a Jarvey.
