Alfred stretched and plopped down in the comfiest armchair by the fireplace, curling up in a little ball. It was nice being the first one back for the evening. It meant that the chairs were his to choose from. Oh man was that fireplace warm. His eyes drooped slightly as he prepared to take a quick nap before his fellow housers got back.
"Mmm...home sweet home..." And with that, the young boy fell into a peaceful sleep.

"PHEW!"
And that would be the sound Masaomi made as he entered in through the portrait hole into the common room, stretching his arms out after a long hard day of classes. Normally, he wouldn't have come in this early, but there was a certain someone who required his attention. Ah well, couldn't be helped. Strolling into the lounge area he was surprised to see that no one had yet arrived. Or at least he did couldn't see anyone else. Shrugging to himself, he was quick to take off his robe and toss it over top the seat in front of the fire place.
No big deal, shouldn't bother anyone. After all he was only going to go up to his room for a minute.

Dave was currently taking notes on an intimidatingly thick Transfiguration textbook, or so it seemed. The irregular tapping of his fingers against the table betrayed his true activity - working on one of his latest rap epics. Masaomi's dramatic entrance got a barely raised head, although he did shuffle the papers so the lyrics weren't quite so obvious. It wasn't likely that anyone could read his bright red scrawl, but he didn't want any underclassmen trying.

Amitola burst into the room, her hands locked behind her head. When she noticed that her traditional fireside seat had been taken by some lumpy jacket, she frowned. She stalked right over to it and sat down, making herself comfortable - Or, as comfortable as she could be on this really bony jacket. "Whose jacket is this, anyway?" She asked rather loudly (and somewhat obnoxiously).

After Masaomi had went upstairs and changed into more comfortable clothing, he returned down to the common room with a small light brown kitten in tow. The first thing he noticed, a girl with rainbow color hair had made herself comfortable on his robe. The second thing, was that there seemed to be someone underneath her and his robe. Frowning he walked over to her side. "Oi, oi. Careful you don't suffocate someone~" He chided.

Amitola furrowed her eyebrows questioningly. She didn't see anyone around - and she certainly wasn't harassing anyone at this moment. "Huh? What are you talking about?" Leaning back into the chair, she tossed her right leg over her left. "I'm just sitting here on this nice robe. Or jacket. Whatever, this thing! Is it yours?"

Masaomi mentally sighed and held his hand out to the rather....strong minded girl in front of him. Oh well, she'd realize in a minute anyway. "Yes, that would be mine. Could I have it back please?" the kitten in his other arm meowed and leaped out onto the armrest of the chair.

Having not noticed the small kitten before, Amitola seemed surprised when it landed near her. She leapt out of her chair and ran behind the young man in front of her. An accusing finger pointed to the cat on the chair. "What is that thing?" Cowering behind Masaomi, she didn't seem to notice the robe anymore.

It all happened so fast, that Masaomi had to take a moment to register the sudden movement from the rainbow haired girl. Blinking a few times, he turned and looked to her, then back to his kitten, then back to the girl cowering behind him.
"Uhh....a cat?" He stepped forward and picked the squirming kitten back up into his arms. "Her name is Linda," He said turning to look back at her with a raised eyebrow.

Amitola quickly dashed behind the robed chair. Her head poked out from behind the top - examining the creature for any sort of evil-ness. Finally, after several minutes, she took a step out from behind the chair. She leaned on it quite nonchalantly, as if her burst of 'excitement' hadn't happened at all. With a flip of her hair, she replied, "Oh. I totally knew that. I was just...messing with you. Yeah, that's it."

Jim strolled into the room calmly; he had one strap of his backpack resting on his right shoulder and his hands were relaxed in his pockets. He noticed an older boy with blonde hair with a cat in his arms and a girl with rainbow hair. He wasn’t sure whether or not to be concerned about the ruckus he had heard or to ignore it, so he propped himself up against the wall near the doorway and listened to their conversation. Normally, he wouldn’t eavesdrop on people, but the fuss about a cat was interesting to him; even he, a muggle-born, knew what a cat was. Wouldn’t a wizard know as well?

Meanwhile poor Alfred was struggling for air once that girl finally got off of him. Gagging, he groused angrily.
"Hey man! The heck is this, 'sit on the Firstie day!?' I coulda died man!". He glared at both of the two noisy ones. "That was a nice dream I was having!" It was true, Al was dreaming of an epic battle between Ronald McDonald, the Burger King, Colonel Sanders, and Wendy. He poured at the realization he didn't know who won.

Masaomi lowered his eyes and smirked plottingly at her before it morphed into his characteristic grin and he held the kitten out in front of her. "Would you like to hold her?"
And that was when Alfred had decided to wake up glaring accusingly at the both of them and yelling something about possibly having killed him. How rude! After all the only fault he was responsible for was laying his robe down on him, and he honestly didn't know he had taken up that spot for a nap. So clearly he was at no fault here. Yeah, that was it. He had even tried to get the rainbow haired girl to get up off of him when he had realized he was there. If anything Alfred should be thanking him for his good samirtanism~
He pouted at Alfred, and in response to the sudden yelling, Linda had once again worked her way out of his hands and leapt onto Alfred's head.

"Dude, didn't you know?" Dave remarked. "First years are only one step up from furniture. Pretty sure they rank below owls and brooms in terms of actual value. You're basically a glorified couch cushion. Or degraded - if you sit on one of those, you don't get a bony prepubescent elbow up your arse."

Amitola inched away from the kitten, strategically placing herself between Dave and Masaomi. It took her a moment, but she finally noticed the screaming first year. She bubbled over with laughter. "Hahaha! So you're the reason that robe was so bony!" She started to take a step towards him, but hesitated - After all, the cat...thing...was still on his head. "Hey, dude. Don't blame me. You were sitting in my spot. I claimed it years ago. You should really know better."
