~Character Info~
Name: Mac McCracken (the last name comes from the show’s creator)
Series: Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
Gender: Male
Age and year: I’m boosting him up a year to be 11 and a first year.
Appearance: Mac has shoulder-length brown hair that he keeps relatively tidy and eyes that are so dark brown, they look black. He is actually very short for his age, standing at 3 feet and 8 inches, but he has an average weight for his height. He has a very slight tan from playing outside with Bloo. Here's a picture: fhif.wikia.com/wiki/Mac
Personality: He is bright, intelligent, and creative; he always seems to know what to do when there is a problem. When he is with his friends, he is the voice of reason. He has a rather large vocabulary for an 11 year old, so a lot of adults see him as mature. Mac is good-hearted and well-meaning, always taking care of his friends, but this tends to make him a bit naïve. Although he has many friends and can make friends rather quickly, he tends to be quite shy towards people he has just met. He loves hanging with his friends, but eventually gets dragged into creating mischief with them and then has to think of a way out of the mess they created. However, he does have a strong moral compass and will draw the line at doing anything morally wrong.
Then there is the “condition” he has that must be avoided at all costs. If Mac eats or drinks anything with sugar in it, his personality is reversed and he goes from very sensible to a destructive lunatic with only one thing on his mind- getting more sugar. He also tends to start talking to himself and twitching. It’s not a pretty sight. Mac tries his best to avoid ever going into a sugar-high, and has found sugar-free treats to be a great alternative.
Canon history: In this canon, children’s imaginary friends are real and can be seen by everyone, but when the children grow up, these friends are often forgotten and abandoned. Mac, however, still has his friend- a blue colored thing named Blooregard Q. Kazoo. His mother insists he is too old for Bloo and tells him to get rid of his friend. Instead, Mac takes Bloo to Foster’s, a house where friends can live till they are adopted. After much hilarity, he is allowed to keep Bloo there with the promise he won’t be adopted as long as he comes to visit every day. Mac has a mother and a bully of an older brother named Terrence.
~AU Info~
AU history: Mac McCracken was raised in a completely muggle family, in a completely normal neighborhood in Ireland. His mother worked a long shift at a local business as a secretary, and often came home late at night. His father passed away when he was only three. It was around that time when he created an imaginary friend to keep him company when his mother was at work and he was hiding from his bully of an older brother. Its name was Blooregard Q. Kazzo, and according to the pictures he drew for his mom, Bloo was a blue thing that looked like a cross between a blob, a jelly bean, and a ghost. Terrence, the aforementioned older brother, constantly picked on Mac during their early childhood. He ridiculed Mac for being a wimp and pushed him around.
It wasn’t until just after Mac’s eighth birthday that his mother began to suspect something was just a little bit different about Mac. No, it wasn’t his exceptionally high grades in school. And no, it wasn’t the overactive imagination that allowed him to spin crazy and funny stories at will. It was most likely the scene she came home to one night after work. Imagine her surprise when she walked in the door to find Terrence cowering in a corner and Mac playing ball in the backyard with Bloo. An actual, honest-to-goodness, real and touchable Bloo. When asked what had happened, Mac replied, “I don’t know, Mom! One minute, I was being chased around the house by Terrence, calling out for Bloo to help me. The next minute, there was Bloo, pelting Terrence with spitballs.” Inside, his mother was terrified, but she kept it hidden, smiled at her son, and never told anyone about the existence of Bloo. It took several weeks for Terrence to recover, but after that, he was back to picking on Mac and calling him a freak. Bloo became a somewhat awkward addition to the family after that.
A little more than a year later, Mac met Madame Foster, their 71 year old next door neighbor. He and Bloo had accidently kicked a soccer ball into the yard, and ignoring his mother’s warnings about the crazy old lady, they snuck over the fence to get it back. Madame Foster, being her rather lively self, wasted no time in catching the boys and bringing them inside for a nice cup of tea. And to introduce them to Mr. Herriman, a talking bunny butler, her own imaginary friend from childhood. Mac was surprised to learn there was someone else like him, and Madame Foster just laughed and told him that she suspected there were many others like him, and then sent him on his way home, more confused than ever. It wasn’t until his eleventh birthday, when he got his letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, that he understood what she meant. He was excited to learn that he was a wizard; that he was perfectly, *ahem* relatively, normal; and that there were indeed others just like him. And while Terrence couldn’t care less, his mother was overjoyed to hear this news as well. But when he went to tell Bloo, the little guy was gone. Mac immediately ran to Madame Foster’s to ask what had happened (for at this point he had already worked out that she was also a witch). She explained to him that as a young wizard, his magic was uncontrollable; that she was surprised Bloo had existed as long as he had; but when he gained mastery over his magic, he’d learn how to bring Bloo back whenever he wanted, as she had done with Mr. Herriman. On this bittersweet note, he boarded the Hogwarts Express for his first year at Hogwarts.
House: I can see Mac in every House except Slytherin, however I think the best match would be Ravenclaw. He has a very strong mind, both in creativeness and logic, and has a love for learning new things.
Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Mac is especially proficient in Transfiguration, as most of the work done for these spells requires you to focus and imagine what you want the item to become. He is skilled in other subjects that require strength of the mind, such as Divination, Charms, and DADA. The logic side of his mind comes in handy for such classes as Arithmancy and History of Magic, and somewhat in Potions. He does not do well in classes that require more physical activity (mainly to do with his small build, as there is not much power in that) such as Flying, Herbology, and Care of Magical Creatures.
Wand: A hazel wand. The length is seven inches long and it is springy. It has a core of unicorn hair.
Other: He is only a first year so he has yet to discover his Patronus and Boggart forms. I’ll reveal those as he learns about them in class.

Mac took a bite of what remained of the Shepard’s Pie in front of him, chewing it carefully. Around him were his new Housemates, laughing and talking with those they had been separated from during their summer holidays. He felt a little bit awkward, as right now he still did not know any of them. Finishing off the pie, he set down his fork and took a big gulp of water out of the golden goblet. After the headmaster’s speech, when the food had first appeared before him, he had been surprised and a bit reluctant to eat the food. But an older student quickly assured him it was perfectly safe and he had dug in. It was much better than anything he had ever cooked.
Only a few seconds after placing the goblet back on the table, the leftover food disappeared, and in its place, dessert had piled up. The other students dug in with gusto; this was the best part of a meal, after all. But Mac just stared at the pumpkin pasties, the cauldron cakes, the treacle tarts, and the licorice wands with distaste. He couldn’t eat any of this; not if he wanted to avoid a sugar-high craze on the first day of term. That’s when a small plate directly in front of him caught his eye. It had a dozen cookies on it, and beside it lay a card with messy handwriting. Sugar-free Cookies. Mac smiled as he grabbed one. He was going to love it here.
