~Character Info~
Name: Prince Gumball (will be using Barnaby Gumball for the rp)
Series: Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake
Gender:Male
Age and year: 16; he's a sixth year
Appearance: Canonwise, Prince Gumball is made physically out of bubblegum, so he has both pink hair and pink skin. In this AU, he keeps the pink hair but his skin is pale instead (but with a tendency to flush BRIGHT PINK when embarrassed/angry/upset/out of breath so he spends half of his time being pink anyway.) His hair is short and fluffs upwards, and he's one those people who can wriggle either eyebrow. He also wears reading glasses.
Personality: Gumball really has two true loves; baking and 'science' (that is, experimentation with potions and spells). Luckily for him, his family's business is one in which he can use both. He's not particularly manly, and he'll be the first to admit this. He often finds himself depending on his friends, even if he wishes he could be more independent. He tends to be overly polite when he speaks, so when his manners lapse even a little it can be very jarring. He's also very melodramatic and gentlemanly, often in an old-fashioned way.
Though never outright rude, he can be a little condescending to Muggleborns upon first meeting them. It's not that he thinks they're stupid or incapable, but that he's consumed with pity for the poor, poor child who had to grow up without magic in their daily life. He's very honest and open most of the time, and is a painfully obvious liar. He has quite the sweet tooth, his favorite color is pink (no one is surprised), and his adoration for large, floppy sweaters/sweatshirts is constantly at war with his compulsion to dress prim and properly.
Canon history: Gumball is technically just a product of Ice King's fanfiction, and a genderbend of Princess Bubblegum. He spends most of the episode he's in frozen to the ceiling until Fionna rescues him.

AU history: Barnaby Gumball (known as Gumball to everyone ever because it's funny) was born into a pureblood wizard family. His mother is german, and from her he learned trace bits of german that he will occasionally toss out when he's not paying attention. His father is a wealthy owner of a popular candy store in Diagon Alley that specializes in the newest types of magical candy. Due to a mishap when he was younger with an untested variety of magical color changing gum, his hair is now pink. Chances are that he could fix it with magic, but at this point he's kind of fond of it. It was never a question whether he'd go to Hogwarts, and when his letter came he packed up and headed to school. He's now in his sixth year of school and is preparing to take over his father's business once he graduates.
His boggart is a certain scary woman who creeps on him a lot.
House: He would probably be a Ravenclaw because he's a good student and loves reading and experiments.
Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: His potions always do something, just not always the things he wants them to. This is not helped by his tendency to experiment with them. Besides that, he's great at casting charms and not much else. However, he works hard in every subject and can write entire essays with ease about spells he'll never have the talent to cast.
Wand: a twelve-inch sweetgum wand with unicorn hair core.
Other: He's a disaster on a broomstick, and has a fond spot spot for unicorns-- he was heartbroken when they started to avoid him once he hit puberty.

Gumball was curled in the corner of the library, deeply immersed in a dusty book. To the casual observer (one who didn't turn their head sideways to see the chipped gold letters that ran down the spine, anyway) it would look as though he was doing homework. This was not the case. The book that he flipped through so eagerly was in fact a cookbook. Since the day he discovered the cooking section of the library he had made it his mission to work through each and every mysterious book of recipes. It had been six years, and he was less than a third of the way through, despite coming here whenever he could spare a moment. Still, his disappointment at not completing his goal was eclipsed by the joy he felt as he scratched away at the parchment paper next to him, recording the recipe and changing some of the ingredients as he felt necessary. He was going to have to try this one over the weekend, to see if the difference would change the screaming gingerbread men to singing ones.
