Yellow jumped a little at how loud Marshall suddenly got, and wondered why it was so important that only the first years come out...didn't all the students need to get back to the school before dark? Or was it just first years that didn't know the way..... She made her mind up to ask Marshall about it later. He seemed to know everything about the school and this little town near the school.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Charlotte sniffed, glad to have that twit gone. There really was no point in him sticking around, he was just taking up time she could be alone with her Prince! The audacity! Why Yellow went with him, she would never figure out. Why would anyone want to spend time with that abomination? Especially when they had a perfectly pink prince right here.
"Can we leave without them?"
Charlotte looked up to Gumball hopefully. The other kids weren't that important! No, not at all!

Mac watched Yellow walk off with the Slytherin who had never given his name. Seriously, she thought he was more trustworthy? Shaking his head and crossing his arms, he looked back to where Charlotte was still all but clinging to Gumball. She didn't seem likely to want to go back yet either. Well, if no one was going to leave with him, he'd just have to walk back on his own. "I guess I'll just go back alone, then. I'll see you later in the common room, Gumball." He turned to leave.

"Ah-- are you sure you know the way?" He didn't want Mac getting lost, but he still had to find the rest of the first years. He pulled himself out of Charlotte's grip, squinting off in the direction that Marshall and the other girl had gone. He should have stopped them, but hadn't thought to in time. Oh well; he would just have to work on finding those lost students. With a sigh, he remembered that he didn't even know how many of them there were.

"Yeah, I know how to get back. Madame Foster's house was like a maze, so I've learned to automatically memorize routes I take and such." He glanced at Charlotte; it was pretty obvious she wasn't going anywhere without Gumball. "I'll see you later then!" He started off towards the dark outline of the school.

Charlotte smiled brightly, waving good-bye to Mac. Alone time with her prince! She wiggled her way closer to his side none too subtly.
Everyone's finally gone and I can finally have alone time with my prince! Nothing can stop us now!
He should be happy, shouldn't he? But when she looked up he looked worried. Why? Didn't he realize it was the perfect time? Well... time for something, she had seen so many movies where it was always the 'perfect time', but she had never really gotten what it was.
"What's wrong? Is something the matter?"
She glanced up, frowning.
What could he be worried about?

Marshall rounded up all the first years and their new practical jokes and gags from Zonko's and began making his way back out. Head count [good thing none of them were missing their head, huh?]. There were... About seven [only "about" because you never know about those headless kids]. That meant there were three more to be found. Now, if Gumball was smart enough [he was smart... Just seemed to be lacking that common sense smart sometimes. Keep telling yourself that, Marshall.] he would still be waiting there so he could dump all the first years off with him. It would make more sense to travel in a group... Right?

"Oh!" He hadn't meant to frighten the younger girl, and he felt bad for doing so. "I'm just not sure Marshall will be able to handle it, and I don't know where he left the other first years..." Ah, but he was making it even worse, pouring his worries out to a first year. "But I'm relieved that you and Mac are alright, of course!"

Yellow was still clinging onto Marshall's back during the head count and subsequently was missed in the headcount. She wasn't even sure if Marshall remembered she was still there. But it seemed like he really was a nice person. He was going to take them all back to the school after all!

Her prince was happy for her! A blush crept up her face. She had done the right thing! And why on Earth would she even choose to go [willingly] with that... that... yick.
"Why don't we just leave them here? He knows his way back, doesn't he?" And if he doesn't, that's no big loss. She quickly looked around for any sign of the trouble making Slytherin, hoping he wasn't anywhere in sight. It was starting to get dark as it grew later... Maybe this would urge her prince to leave the rest of them here!

I feel like a goose or something Marshall thought to himself while herding the first years back to the open square where Barnaby and the two first years were. Or a sheep dog or something
"Hey, Barnaby!" Marshall cracked a smile when he saw his classmate. This must look pretty funny; herding seven first years with one clinging to his back. So, they had ten total, right? That meant three were still missing. Wait... "Hey, where's that other first year? You know... That kid?" Words? Not a forte.

Yellow quietly answered Marshall's question. "Mac went back on his own..."

"Marshall!" Charlotte's question was forgotten as he spotted the slytherin boy with a whole host of younger students. "You found them?" He was impressed, and it showed in his face. He'd half expected Marshall to run off and leave him to find the kids on his own. He counted the students quickly, although he had no idea how many there had been in the first place. "Is this all of them?" He hoped the answer was yes. The sooner this matter was over with, the better.

He nodded at Yellow's response, acknowledging that he had heard her. So. They only had to account for twelve... Still missing three then.
"Uh... What's the answer you want to hear?" He turned back to Gumball with a silly grin on his face. He already knew the answer [the truth, duh. Barnaby was kinda straightforward like that], the question was just for kicks. "We still need to find three... And you really thought I'd just leave them? I promised I'd bring them back." Didn't specify when or where, but the current circumstances required immediate action. Sigh. "Do you have any clue to where they might have gone?" The question wasn't really to just Barnaby; Yellow or Charlotte might know... They were first years, they might have an inside idea of where the others might have headed.

Charlotte's grip on Gumball's arm tightened as the "yick" came into view. And even tighter when her prince called out his name. What was that guys problem? Couldn't he tell when he wasn't wanted?
"I think they went over there..." Charlotte nodded off in a random direction, hoping Marshall would just take all of the other first years with him and just leave . She honestly had no clue where the others had gone; she had been keeping an eye out for her prince the entire time [she just knew he was going to rescue her!] Normally, she didn't particularly like lying... But for Marshall, she'd make an exception.
