~Character Info~
Name: Doyle Blackwell
Series: The Secret Saturdays
Gender: Male
Age and job: 31 years old; Flying Lessons Professor
Appearance: Doyle is built in both upper and lower body, and very tall. He has bright red hair worn in a messy Mohawk with shaved sides, and black eyes. His left ear has multiple piercings. He has a smile that can aggravate anyone. Many women in the show (and him) think he is attractive.
Personality: Doyle is cocky and has a smart mouth. He has a loud, in-your-face attitude, is funny, and has a come-what-may outlook on life. He’s always willing to help others, for the right price (although this is more for appearances; he’ll still help even if he doesn’t get anything out of it). He is mostly kind, but because of his childhood in an orphanage, he tends to keep people on the edge of his heart. He also may act reckless, but this is only the case when he knows his skills can handle the situation.
In canon, he is obsessed with his jet-pack, and prefers it to walking, even incorporating it into his fighting style. So, in AU, he loves flying on his broomstick all the time. Doyle is actually much smarter than he looks. He designed the jet-pack himself, made liquid-nitrogen concussion pellets and micro-adhesive gloves, and rewired a microwave. However, he prefers to use his intelligence on complicated pranks instead. One last quirk he has- he gives people he likes a nickname, even if it may be a little insulting. At least you know he cares!
Canon history: He starts out as the hired assistant to one of the Saturday family’s enemies. After he helps the youngest member, Zak, he discovers that Zak’s mom is the sister he was separated from when he was four. He switches sides, joking that he’s only doing it for the money, and helps them on their missions to discover cryptids and stop Argost from raising Kur and taking over the world. Cryptids are animals that may or may not exist, and the Saturdays’ job is to track them down, record info about them, and then keep them hidden from the world. Kur is the ultimate cryptid that controls others.
~AU Info~
AU history: Doyle was born into the Blackwell family, which consisted of his older sister and his two wizarding parents. His parents searched for and studied new magical creatures, in lands all across the world. They were in the Himalayas when a snowstorm came upon them out of nowhere. He lost sight of his family in the storm, and by the time he was conscious again, his sister was gone, and his parents were dead. He was only four. He was discovered by some villagers and sent to live in a Tibetan orphanage. After getting kicked from orphanage to orphanage for causing weird and dangerous things to happen, he wound up in London. At 11 years old, he received his letter from Hogwarts. He was immediately sorted into Slytherin, probably because of his love for rule-breaking that had nothing to do with helping others, and everything to do with his own personal enjoyment.
It didn’t take long for him to learn about the seventh year Gryffindor girl with the last name of Blackwell. And after much snooping around, he finally confronted her, demanding to know why she had the same last name. Drew recognized him and told him of their past. Doyle was a little glad to know he wasn’t alone anymore, but he never fully got along with her. She graduated and followed in their parents’ footsteps. It wasn’t until his nephew was born that he felt like he was part of a family again.
In school, he became Beater for the Slytherin Quidditch Team, and was very good at it. By the time he graduated, several teams were offering him positions as a Beater. He went with the team that offered the most money; Scotland’s International Team. The next several years he spent pissing off his teammates and switching to other teams that would pay him better. But after a while of this, most countries refused to place him on their team any longer. He was simply too difficult to work with. And he was stuck as a Beater for the Tutshill Tornadoes, a third-rate English team. He started to rethink his goal in life, because at this point, he wasn’t going to get anywhere. He started to clean up his act a little, when it finally struck him like a Bludger to the head. Quite literally, actually. His injury cost him his position on the team and he was in a rough spot for a while, until one day he received a letter in the mail, similar to the one he got 20 years prior. Hogwarts was in need of a Flying Professor, and he snatched up the job immediately.
His Patronus is a Kite, a type of bird of prey that has very long wings but fairly weak legs. His boggart takes on the form of a Yeti, the creature he sees in the one memory he has of his parents- killing them.
House: He was a Slytherin while at Hogwarts.
Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Obviously, he is good at flying and Quidditch, although due to his head injury he can no longer fly very high, but high enough for the Hogwarts field. He is also skilled in Care of Magical Creatures, something he got from his parents, but he wants nothing to do with it. Charms, hexes, curses, and other such spells are neither difficult nor easy. But anything that involves thinking and studying is usually a challenge.
Wand: A detailed pine wand. The length is eleven and one-half inches long. The core consists of griffin bone.
Other: N/A

Doyle strode through the corridors of Hogwarts, making a mental map of the areas he would need to know his way around when the school year officially started. The Quidditch field was still familiar, but he seemed to have forgotten some of the ways to get to other places, such as the bathroom. He had found his indoor classroom easily enough; although he was confident he would only have to use it during rainy days. Now he was on his way to the staff room, a place he definitely hadn’t been anywhere near during his years as a student. This would be so much easier if I could just fly through the halls.
