Shion burst into a loud laughing fit then, clutching her sides as she watched the scene. "Easy there, Marshall! You might be taking things too far!" she spoke through her laughter, which would make her seem totally nonthreatening. "Anri-chan, he's only trying to get under Gumball's skin~" she said, walking her index and middle finger up Anri's arm. Poor Gumball, she thought, so abused~

"He's-- he's making it sound like--" He couldn't even say it out loud, it was too embarrassing, but Marshall was making it sound as though they had a different sort of relationship. Gumball was all too aware of the fact that his blush was spreading through his ears and neck. "It is too far!"

"Hm?" Marshall looked to Shion, feigning confusion, but not able to keep a smile off of his face. This was better than any of barnaby's other reactions. I mean... Dark pink? That was a new record! He knew that he should probably cut Gumball a break, but... Nah. Nevermind. He smirked, Anri's comments really... Really weren't helping. If anything, it was like putting gas on a fire. So inspiring!

Shion couldn't help but continue to laugh hat Gumball's face. It almost matched his hair! She placed a hand over her mouth in a pathetic attempt to calm herself, but her fellow Slytherin's antics were just too funny.

And now they were both laughing at him. He looked pleadingly at Anri, the only person who had yet to mock him-- though she seemed solidly on Marshall's side, so chances were she would start laughing at him too. They were just laughing because it was so ridiculous a notion, right? He hoped that was the reason. But even though he tried to rationalize it to himself, his blush didn't fade.

After Shion's laughter finally settled to a fit of giggles, she placed a hand on Gumball's shoulder. "I am so sorry," she giggled, "I know you're not like that," giggle, "but your face makes it funny." She didn't meant to sound offensive, but it was the truth; his reaction to Marshall's joke was priceless! She removed her hand from Gumball, and pointed a finger at Marshall. "You," snicker, "lay off," giggle, "before I bust a gut!"

"You doubt my sincerity~?" Marshall snickered, leaning in, resting his head on his almostbutnotquite friend's shoulder. "We were like... Made for each other, don't you know~?" He couldn't even keep up the act anymore, all he could do was try not to burst out laughing. The Ravenclaw would probably never talk to him after this, but that was okay. He'd find someone else to annoy and bother; there were suckers all around the school. Too easy!

He was about to reply to Shion when Marshall rested his head on his shoulder, blathering some nonsense about them being made for each other. He felt his entire body stiffen, caught between shoving the boy off and scooting away from him. He opted for a compromise, some sort of shoulder-shrug-sideways-shuffle that failed due to him not accounting for Marshall's arm still being around him and keeping him in place.
"Marshall! Don't be ridiculous! And let go of me!"

"Why are you laughing?" Anri asked. "Marshall's special feelings for Gumball are a serious matter!" 'Love' was probably an amazing experience... "Marshall, I fully support your future with Gumball!" she looked at the blushing Gumball. "There's no need to be embarrassed about this Gumball, if this is your preference then it doesn't change who you are!"

And that was the final straw. Marshall broke down laughing, actually glad he had a hold on Barnaby, he probably would have fell to the floor, laughing too hard. How could Anri think he was serious? Oh, this was totally gonna annoy Barnaby! He sniffed, trying to regain his composure.
"Thank you, Anri; that means a lot," He nodded, looking to the ground, trying to conceal his laughter, but his shaking shoulders pretty much gave it away.

Seeing Marshall's shoulders shaking, Anri began to worry. Was he going to cry? His face was faced downwards, concealing his expression. He must be trying to hide his tears, she realized. Moving forward, she put an arm around his shoulders and looked reproachfully at Gumball. "Look what you've done! Stop abusing his feelings!"

"Anri-chan!" Shion gasped with a smile, but her eyes gave off concern. "Anri-chan, Marshall's just playing a prank, he and Gumball really aren't in love." She draped an arm over Gumball's shoulders, "It's Gumball who's being abused over here." She laughed again, despite the fact that Anri must be terribly confused.
