"My parents..." said Kurogane actually looking at Fai when he said it tears slipping from his eyes as he forced himself not to sob really loudly. He shook harder supressing any sobs just letting the tears fall silently. "Murdered........" he said biting his lip hard.
Kuro wanted to just curl up and cry, but refused to do it infront of anyone. But it seemed to be making him ill by keeping it in. He continued to struggle against the emotions.

The dread the Fai had turned to a sick feeling, burning at the pit of his stomach....he still looked shocked as Kurogane explained in the briefest way he could, as though every word hurt to say. He could see the teen was devestated, and trying so damn hard to be tough. putting on a brave and defiant face. Fai felt bad for him, eyes showing empathy but not pity. He understood the pain of losing someone, the emptiness it brought and how hard it was to recover from.
For once though, despite his clever tongue and adept storytelling, words failed him. Everyone always said the same things 'I'm sorry for your loss' or 'they're in a better place' ...meaningless words. Nothing would make it right. Nothing would be able to heal the wounds. He moved cautiously, shifting to sit next to Kurogane and catching one of the mans hands with his, just offering comfort and keeping his mouth shut.

Kuro felt Fai take a hold of his hand, he couldn't stop himself tears flowing quicker. he'd meant to smack Fai but instead he shifted and burried his face against Fai's neck sobs muffled by the blonde mage's clothes. Arms wrapping around him to clinging needily as he sobbed.

Fai knew he was liable to get hit for daring to get close, it was just the way Kurogane was. Yet, the blow didn't come. The blonde felt aweful as he heard the sobs, moving to slip his arms around the Hufflepuffs frame, offering comfort. If he had to guess, he's say that Kurogane had kept his rough demeanor up to keep people away, not allowing anyone to offer him any sympathy or comfort even though he needed it, and it had built until breaking point. He could understand it, it was one of the reasons why he kept his sunny, smily facade up - it kept people from asking questions and seeing how much he was hurting.....he certainly wasn't going to tease him about it.

Kurogane sobbed for a long while, eventually calming down he pulled back rubbing his face. He sort of felt a little better for letting it out.
"sorry," he mummbled feeling embaressed for crying all over the blonde. His eyes were still red and he seemed to be more tired now than before, his stomach gurgled a little. He hadn't eaten much recently but letting out the emotion seemed to of given him a little bit of an apetite.

Wordlessly, Fai allowed the taller teen to cry without mocking or pestering. When kurogane pulled back, Fai gave him a little but genuine soft smile. "It's fine....it's not a weakness to need comfort...." but before he could continue, he was cut off by Kuro's stomach. He lightly prodded it, still smiling gently "...Sounds like you could do with some food...." the kitchens were close by, they could sneak down and the house-elves would whip them up something. And yet....
"How about we go down to Hogsmeade....the inns will still be serving food for a while yet, and I think you could do with getting out of here for a little bit, ne?" Not to mention it sounded like the teen could use a drink. Not that Fai condoned drinking as a cure for grief, but sometimes as a one off it helped. It was Kuroganes first day back, and he was very much alone....Fai had a feeling tonight might be rough on the red-eyed boy, and drink might at least dull the pain for a little bit.

Kuro blushed and knocked Fai's hand away to stop him from poking. Shifting to get some space between him and Fai obviously getting back to old habits of keeping distance between himself and the blonde.
Kurogane nodded at the mention of getting food "Just something small," he said not really in the mood to eat anything but knowing he should at least try to eat something.

It wasn't that surprising to Fai that when he went back to being his usual teasing self, Kurogane also reverted back to being gruff. He pouted a little, rubbing the hand that had been knocked away "Bully." he grumbled half-heartedly, but didn't do his usual melodramatic sniffling and whining that Kuro-sama didn't love him anymore.
"C'mon, theres a little place on the outskirts of Hogsmeade...." he grabbed Kuroganes hand and started pulling him along, wanting to help pick his spirits up a little. Of course, nothing would really make things better, but he wanted to at least make things a little less lonely for Kuro. Usually to get to Hogsmeade was a good half hour walk, or a short coach/broom ride. But Fai had a better idea, one that was less likely to get them caught sneaking off the school grounds. He pretty much dragged the taller teen out one of the side entrances of the castle and down to the boathouse. "We'll attract too much attention if we try to walk or fly out....so we'll borrow one of these!" a quick flick of his wand, and he summoned one of the boats that had been loosely tied up. It was getting dark, no one would notice.
When the boat floated to the bank, Fai clambered in with a grin, heedless to the rocking of the tiny little vessel "Coming, Kurorin?"

Kurogane followed/was dragged along by the blonde, when they finally reached the bank he eyed the boat and glared at Fai.
"Its Kurogane," said Kuro grumping cos the stupid blonde had started with the stupid nicknames. Kurogane stepped onto the boat and sat down glancing around the dark waters around them.

Waving a hand dismissively at Kuro's insistance that he be called 'Kurogane' he replied "And when you call me by my name, I will call you by yours." he didn't mind too much that Kurogane seemed to insist on calling him 'oi you' or 'stupid mage'...also, since Kurogane didn't know his true name, it meant that he would never call the grumpy teen by his full name either. A technicality that Kurogane was unaware of.
Once kurotan was in the boat, Fai tapped the side and muttered a soft spell, setting it into motion. Who needed to row when you had magic? Of course, under any other circumstances, he might have made Kuro row just to wind him up....but tonight, he was trying to be on his (almost) best behaviour.
The boat glided easilly across the lake, though Fai steered them along near the edge and the shadows so that they weren't spotted. There was a reasonably companionable silence for the ride, and it wasn;t long before the boat lightly bumped against the bank the other side. Another bit of magic, and Fai tethered the boat so that it didn't float away, then climbed out easilly. It wasn't far from Hogsmeade train station - this was how the first years got their first glimpse of the castle after all.
(continued in Hogsmeade?)
