Mimiko's office was very cozy. In one corner sat a soft, cushiony, black pillow, right underneath a big window, that functioned as Sir-Pounce-A-Lot's bed. Right now the aforementioned cat was curled up in the brightest ray of sunshine, sleeping. There were large windows on the back side of her room, one with the cat's pillow nad the other with a makeshift window seat. Mimiko had brought a long bench from home, made a cushion just the right length, and put it on top. This made a beautiful spot for her to relax, absorb the sunshine as her cat always did, and do all of the nit-picky things that teaching required. She had no desk, instead she had a very low table with a blue pillow on one side and two standard grey pillows on the other side. Through a door behind the greys, people could enter from the halls, and through a door to the left of the pillows Mimiko could enter her classroom. On the wall opposite the door leading to her classroom was a wall-to-wall shelf that contained all of Mimiko's things, including some of Pouncy's food.
She was inside her office because it was required, in the extreme case that the doctor came across a curse he could not be rid of(if he could get rid of curses at all), or if a student simply wanted the advice of the actual Charms teacher, rather than the doctor. Either way, she was confined to this room until the students' bed time.
She walked over to her shelves and got Pouncy's bowls down from the shelf. "Repleus Agua!" She pointed her wand at the bowl marked water. It filled to just below the brim with water and she set it down in front of Pouncy. Uninterested, he turned and laid in the other direction. "Accio!" She whispered and his cat food came drifting down from another shelf. A few more spells and it filled the bowl for her as the bowl in question drifted itself down to land neatly beside the water bowl. Now Sir-Pounce-A-Lot turned around and began feeding hungrily on the food.
Mimiko took out a cookie left over from her class earlier, fluffed her pillow with a swish of her wand, and sat, waiting for the inevitable student emergency.

Masaomi remained still outside the professor's room. This conversation was bound to happen eventually, and he'd most certainly have it be sooner than later.
Even so, he simply stood there, unmoving, unable to raise his hand to the door and knock. His head was buzzing with millions of thoughts. What would she say? Would she be scared of him? Or maybe she would avoid the subject entirely, just as Masaomi was contemplating doing now, losing the battle to himself.
He silently shook his head, even though there was no one around. He slowly sighed and lowered the hand poised to knock back down to his side.

Sir-Pounce-A-Lot could sense someone outside the door, with that uncanny ability that most animals have. He looked up from his meal and glanced at the door, spurring Mimiko out of her seat. She opened the door with a hearty "Hello!"
In front of her was Masaomi Kida, the only student she really knew at this point. She smiled, "Konnichiwa, Masaomi."

Startled, Masaomi jumped a little at the sudden opening of the door. "Oh, uh, Katsuragi-sensei..." Dammit, he was just about to leave too.
"I was just passing through," He lied pathetically, smiling and scratching at the back of his head.

"Oh. Okay." Mimiko was slightly depressed. She'd hoped to get to know at least ONE of her students, and Masaomi would probably be the easiest one, seeing as she'd taught him a bit already.
"Wait!" She stopped him. "Didn't you want to talk after class or something? I'm sorry I didn't stay, I totally forgot!"

Masaomi was already making a move to walk away when he paused at her words. Literally paused, as there was probably a good 30 or 40 second interval where he was weighing the decision in his head before he actually opened his mouth to respond. It would be another 10 seconds before he would avert his gaze and any actual words would come forth. "Ah, yeah, well....I suppose I said I did, heh..."

"Then come in!" Mimiko smiled, completely oblivious to her student's discomfort. She gestured to the grey cushions. "Sit in whichever one you like. They're both the same." She sat in the blue one.
She looked him straight in the eye. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

Masaomi reluctantly followed her into the room, settling himself on one of the pillows, eyes glued away from hers. "............about before...." he readjusted his positioning on the soft piece of fluff. "before Hogwarts..."

Mimiko paused. "In Japan? I knew you left, but I didn't know why. They never really told the teachers. They never do when a student is expelled."

Masaomi flinched slightly at her words. He found it hard to believe she wouldn't notice a fight as large as the one that had broken out, especially one which involved the kidnapping of another student. He forced himself to smile kindly up at her, not really knowing how to respond to her statement. "Ah, well....guess there's no reason for me to be here bothering you, huh?"

Mimiko raised a hand to stop him. "Masaomi, I'd liek to know what happened. I'm sure it will feel better when you tell me. After all, we'll be spending the better part of a year together."
Whatever he had to say couldn't be THAT bad. Certainly he hadn't been a part of that huge fight her last year at the school. That would be ridiculous.

"No, really...." He dodged the subject. "If you really don't know or don't remember, that's fine." He stood up from his cushion and bowed. "I'm sorry for troubling you."

Mimiko wouldn't let Masaomi get away without telling her. She was a teacher, and it was in her job description to stick her nose into students' business. And so, she decided to mention the fight. At least if he wasn't in it, he might open up and relax a little.
"Were you in that fight, Masaomi?" She whispered.

Masaomi cringed, choosing to remain silent over answering the question. He kept his gaze locked on the floor and avoided eye contact. "........"

Mimiko was surprised: Masaomi didn't seem like the type.
Either way, he was a student and this was obviously bothering him, and so she vowed to help. "Masaomi, whatever happened on that day is not going to change my opinion of you: You're one of my best students. But it's obvious that you need to get this off of your chest, so why don't you sit down and tell me?" She paused, and added, "I promise it won't go out of this room."
She flicked her wand and off the shelf came two mugs, both of which filled with green tea. She grabbed one out of the air, and the other landed softly in front of one of the grey pillows on the edge of her desk.
