Mimiko checked her watch, the only really muggle thing she owned, again as she waited at the table. She'd sent Doyle a letter, asking him on a date, and had requested a backroom in the Three Broomsticks(away from the prying eyes of students) for the occasion. Now she was just waiting to see if he showed up. He had about ten minutes until he was late; Mimiko was just ridiculously early.
Sir-Pounce-A-Lot mewled at her feet, and she handed him a small bowl filled with Butterbeer. "Here Pouncy. Now be quiet." She tapped her fingers on the table, anxious.

((Ok, now that's not very fair; I had homework I got off to do. Doyle would never be late for a date; well, not be much!))
Doyle raced through the air towards Hogsmeade, periodically checking his watch. Mimiko had sent him an owl not very long after their...whatever it was in the snow, asking him to meet her in The Three Broomsticks for a date. At first, he hadn't planned to go. Dating was strictly against his policy. He didn't need love to make it through life; one only ended up getting hurt. But then, he couldn't deny that maybe he really did kind of like her as more than a colleague. Shaking his head, he landed the firebolt in front of the pub and walked in.
Looking over to the bartender, he was about to ask where he could find Ms Katsuragi, when the woman pointed him toward the back room. Evidently she had been expecting him. Making his way around tables, he said hello to students and past fans that walked up to him as he tried to pass. Finally, he broke free and made it to the door. Glancing at his watch (he was only...two minutes late), he went in.

Pouncy abandoned his spot on the floor for somewhere away from Doyle's large boots, dragging his bowl over to a corner. Mimiko smiled warmly, giggling. "I'm glad... You could make it Doyle." Now things got to that awkward bit where you were either laughing still an hour later, or gone after ten minutes.

Doyle scratched the back of his head and smiled at Mimiko. "Me too." He approached the table and was about to sit down, when he suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right! Um, here. Orchideus!" A small bouquet of a wide variety of colors transfigured from the tip of his wand, and he grabbed them and held them out to her. "I knew they'd get ruined by the flight here, so I thought I should wait till I got here to make them."

Mimiko blushed and took the orchids. There was no way he could've known that they were her favorites, but she still was happy that they were. She took a whiff. She was often impressed with his knowledge of Charms. It was very interesting to find such a hardened individual, someone like Doyle, that was so very good at her realm of expertise.
"Thank you Doyle. Thank you very much." A server walked in, with two menus. Mimiko took one and quickly hid her blushing face behind it.

Doyle smiled at her and took his seat. It was plain to see that she loved the flowers. He had spent a good part of the day before trying to find at least one person who knew what type of flowers she liked. Quickly, he took a menu and opened it to scan through it, but noticed that Mimiko was now hiding behind hers.
"That's not very fair," Doyle commented, reaching out and lowering the menu slightly so he could see her face. His own ears turned a bright red color at the same time. "Better. So, um, what sort of food is good here?"

Mimiko blushed furiously. Just the simple movement of lowering her menu meant he wanted to admire her, right? She'd never had anyone admire her before.
Distractedly, she muttered something about Shepard's pie, but it was unclear what she'd actually said.

Doyle cleared his throat and chuckled lightly, trying to hold it back. "I'm sorry; I didn't quite catch that." It sounded like Mimiko had said sheep on rye, and Doyle was pretty sure that was not a delicacy in Scotland, even in the wizarding community.

"I think there's Shepard's Pie." She muttered, but clear enough this time. "But I've never had it."

"Mmm! One of my favorites! I'm sure they can't make it as well as my sis, but I'll give it a try." He flipped through the menu again, trying to decide between an alcoholic drink or a regular butterbeer. "What about you?"

She lifted a half-empty mug of butterbeer from beside her chair. It'd been obscured from his point of view. She'd used it to keep Pouncy in line.
"Strictly non-alcoholic for me. I can barely hold my sake!" She mused. She glanced down at the menu, trying to find something she could eat without looking like a pig.

Doyle nodded, deciding to stick with a butterbeer as well then. He chuckled again at her comment. "It is one of the most potent alcohols. I've tried several in the countries I played for, but I have to say Vodka is probably the strongest." He also held his liquor much better than the woman across from him.

She'd decided on a small chicken breast, with a salad for a side. She glanced at him when he said vodka.
"Well, Russians are known for their alcohol. I've only ever had wine and sake though, and I don't do well with either." She blushed furiously. Why had she said that? No need to dredge up embarrassing drinking stories...
