Edge walked outside, the brisk morning air invigorating him. In his hands, he held a small CD player as well as several bottles of water and his wand. After finding a nice clearing, he set up his things on the floor. He turned on the CD player, putting in a CD labeled "It's Training Time!" He stretched deeply, limbering himself up for this day's training.

Isabela was sneaking back from yet another illegal Forbidden Forest visit when she saw the boy. Wasn't that Edge, from her History of Magic class? She hunkered down behind a tree, spying.

Edge's head shot up. He was positive he heard someone. He continued his stretching, all the while keeping his ears open. After a while, he decided to go out on a limb and spoke loudly enough for anyone to hear, "I know someone's there. You can come out."

Isabela sighed and revealed herself. ~You'd think, for a roguish pirate, that I'd be more stealthy.~ "Hey Edge. Whacha doin'?"

Edge smiled lightly underneath his mask. "Hello, Isabela-hime! I was just stretching, getting ready for my training today." He did a quick backflip, just for good measure, and turned off his CD player, looking over at Isabela. "Anyways, what are you doing? I thought you had a class at this time."

Isabela gave a hearty laugh. "Pfft. Class. The Forbidden Forest is sooo much cooler than Runes."

Edge shrugged. "fair enough." He turned his CD player back on when an idea hit him. "If you'd like, I could show you a few of the basics." He made a mental note to thank Shion-hime for the idea of showing others how to do the basics.

"Sure!" Isabela was always up for learning something new. It was a reflection of visiting new societies almost every week on her father's boat. No two countries were the same, and no two ports for that matter.

Edge grinned. "Fantastic!" He motioned for her to come over. "Now, the most essential parts of ninjutsu are speed, stealth, and the ability to use both to do totally normal things while looking cool. At least that's what I was taught."

"Oh, that's easy." She smiled. She may not quite have the STEALTHY part down, but she was certainly fast and agile. She could scale trees and walls just as easily as the masts of her father's ship. She took a running start at a nearby tree, ran up it's length until she could feel gravity dragging on her, and pushed off, somersaulting onto a branch.

Edge whistled. "good god, Isabela-hime. I'm impressed!" The shinobi-to-be leapt p the tree until he had reached a parallel branch. "The thing is, can you do it without knocking any leaves down?" He gestured downwards. Around where Isabela had landed, there were a few leaves scattered. By Edge, there was nothing.

Isabela paused. This had been her problem with surprising Marshall the other day in the Forest. She'd knocked a bunch of leaves and branches down. Thankfully, he hadn't noticed, but she had.
She sighed. She could sure land softly on the ground, but that was ground. It didn't shake when she hit it. She shook her head at Edge, marveling at his stealth.

"I'm still impressed, Isabela-hime." Edge lightly leapt to the same ranch as her, standing lightly on his toes. "Not anyone can pull off such a feat as you just did. It usually takes years of intense training." He shifted his weight slightly so the branch wouldn't give out on both of them.

Isabela shifted too, feeling a little strain on her end of the branch. She smirked at him. "It comes from living on a pirate ship all your life, and being the only girl. When you're small and fast, you learn to scale things at a moment's notice."

Edge blinked. "you're a... pirate?" He never would have figured. He always assumed pirates were all 'Yo-ho-ho" and 'walk the plank.' He shrugged and nearly fell off the branch in the process before regaining his balance.
