The Count sighed with joy as he looked over his classroom. It was very bright and inviting; he had opened all the windows to let the morning light in, and even put up some colorful draperies. The room was a warm shade of orange, with red Chinese characters accenting the walls. He took a seat as his desk, sinking into the soft chair, and picked up his still hot cup of tea. Sipping lightly, he awaited his students' arrival. A little half-bat half-rabbit landed on his shoulder, with a soft squeak as a greeting. On each desk, a neatly written paragraph rested on Sakura-trimmed stationary:
Welcome to class, my dear students. In my class, I have but three simple rules:
1) Do not feed nor touch the animals without my permission. 2) Do not speak while I am. I promise that what I have to say in this class is very important to you. 3) Do what I ask, when I ask it. Some of these animals are dangerous, and do not take kindly to strangers.
If you follow these rules, then I know that our class will be an enjoyable one. If not, then I cannot be held responsible for the actions of the animals.
Your Professor, Count D

Yayoi slipped into the class like a ghost. She read the note, then absently began doodling on it, doubting she would stay for much longer.
Magical creatures though... It would be a useful thing to know...
Yayoi continued doodling, realizeing that she was drawing her family, and waiting for others to come.
She would leave if nothing started soon. She wasn't about to waste her time in a class with no reason.

As the girl entered, Count D gave her a warm smile. "Ah, my first student. Welcome to my class." He rose from his seat, exposing his dark blue male yukata. He didn't want too look too womanly today, or the students may start calling him Ms. Count D! That would be horrid. He casually strode to the door, watching the halls for any more students. He knew he had many to come, but so far he only had one... And class would start in less than ten minutes! He shook his head, "tsk"ing. "Humans have no sense of punctuality."

Violet quietly made her way to the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. Her hair was back to hiding most of her face; she had been so open and talkative lately that she was having a period of shyness again. Walking into the room, she gave who appeared to be the new professor a polite greeting before choosing a corner seat and sitting down. Reading through the rules, she set the paper aside, took out her quill and then waited patiently for class to begin. Or for someone she knew to walk in, she thought as she picked out the unfamiliar Hufflepuff.

Kurogane slipped into the room eyeing the small creature sitting on the teachers shoulder, but continued to move to one of the seats. Sitting next to the window. The Hufflepuff set his things down on the desk and sat quietly for now. He noticed that one other Hufflepuff was there but wasnt sure he knew their name, he nodded at them slightly just to acknowledge a fellow Hufflepuff. Then turned his attention back to the front of the room.

Totally oblivious of the others words and actions, Yayoi suddenly looked up and around at the people there today.
"If no one else is going to show up, can we leave?" Yayoi asked, unaware of how rude that sounded.

The Count smiled at each of the students as they arrived, and it did not falter even after the seemingly rude human spoke to him. He turned to face her, his eyes filled with kindness. "Well, dear, if you feel you really must. But class hasn't even begun. We still have thirty seconds." He gestured to the clock on the wall above his desk. Fluidly, he moved to the front of the class, where a rather large covered cage rested. He patted it gently. "But I can assure you, that you will want to stay." The creature beneath the cloth growled.

Kurogane eyed the cage wondering what was in it. He glanced at the girl when she made the rude comment, but decided to continue to keep his mouth shut. He wasnt going to even bother give it a response.
He stayed quiet though just watching for now, There didnt seem to be many people here at the moment even with the class about to start.

Fenris slipped in, glad that he wasn't late, even if he HAD cut it a bit close. He didn't want to be late to Care of Magical Creatures, the only class he actually fully ENJOYED.
"Ah,Violet!" He smiled and sat next to her. It was so nice to see her back as a girl once again. He gave her a very quick, charming smile which disappeared as he looked at the rest of his classmates and, finally, the teacher.

Count D's smile never faded, even as the boy made it to class with only seconds to spare. Glancing at the clock, he sighed to himself. "Ah, well, class has officially started, then!" He brought a chair next to the cage, and took his seat, before taking a cup of tea off of his desk. With a gentle sip, he closed his eyes, as if thinking. "Welcome to Care of Magical Creatures. As your paper informs you, I am your professor, Count D. You may simply called me Professor D. Would anyone like something sweet?" He gestured with his free hand to his desk, which was seemingly bare on the top. "It would be a good icebreaker. Or, since you seem to be so excited to begin..." his eyes fell on Yayoi, "we very well could. My little friend is excited to meet you all."

Yayoi crossed her arms. His "friend?" God, this guy wasn't going to set something loose on them, was he?
Oh well. Yayoi could learn to use some neutralize dangerous animals... It would be good to know for when she was on her own...

Post by Fai Flowright on Nov 20, 2011 20:01:36 GMT -4
A little late, Fai slipped into the classroom...he didn't really have any excuse, he'd been dawdling in the hallway, chatting to one of the portraits. He doubted he'd missed anything that interesting, start of class was usually taking the register (....though as his name began with an F, he would probably have missed his name. Oh well). He went quietly to a seat directly behind Kurogane, happy that he was in pestering distance of the Hufflepuff.
Idly, his attention was caught by the note stuck to the desk....no talking....no bothering the animals....awww, well that was no fun. Though on hearing the thing in the cage growling, Fai did actually think it might be wise to not pester that particular animal. He'd stick to annoying his Big Badger instead.

Kuro listened to the teacher, but got a little distracted when Fai slipped into the room late. He watched him silently as the blonde moved towards him and then slipped into the seat behind him. His attention returned to the front of the class. Eyeing the covered cage again.
He sighed trying not to think about the blonde behind him, trying to keep his thoughts on what was happening in class.

Yellow ran into class just barely on time, her eyes wide and scared. "I-I'm sorry I'm late s-sir..." She ran over to hide behind Yayoi, hoping the teacher wouldn't be too angry with her. It wasn't her fault that the staircase had changed! She hadn't known where she was when she finally escaped the terrifying stairs and had gotten hopelessly lost before somehow ending up on the floor she needed to be on....then she ended up getting help from one of the numerous ghosts to find where she needed to be. But she still hadn't shown up on time! And one of the older Slytherin students had warned her that teachers eat first years who show up late to class.

Count watched the later students take their seats and settle in. He gave the small Hufflepuff girl a reassuring smile. "That's quite alright. It's the first day of this class, I really wasn't expecting everyone to be here on time." He rose from his seat once more, having finished his tea, and set the empty cup on his desk. He then knelt behind the wooden table to grab a large platter of cupcakes and tarts, donuts and tea cakes, and even cookies. He laid out this cornucopia of sweets on his desk, his gaze focusing on the students once more. "Are you all sure you don't want any? It will simply mean more for me~" he chuckled.
Instead of gobbling up all the sweets like he wanted to do oh-so-very badly, he made his way back to the cage. Gripping the cloth, he asked, "Now, can any of you tell me what this is..." he yanked off the cloth, revealing a tall, brute young man, with an interesting black pattern swilring around his body. His ears were pointed, and he had large fangs. He growled and hissed like an animal, but his appearance was very much human.
