Admittedly, the unicorn foal was cute....but for some reason Fai preferred the Thestrals. Probably because they suited his darker, hidden emotions. However, for the sake of appearances he would gush over the foal and be as happy and giggly as people expected of him. It was one defence he used, to appear as foolish and happy as possible so that no personal questions were asked. Either people believed him too stupid, or too happy to be capable of much thought. It worked well in most cases; there was only one person who saw past it on a frequent basis and it was the Hufflepuff boy in front of him. Not that it wouldn't stop Fai trying....after all, Fenris had seen him with the thestrals....seen him at one of his weakest moments, and so Fai would try doubley hard to keep his pretenses up.
Fai stood, sliding between the desks - and ruffling Kuroganes hair on the way with a grin. He headed towards the front with a giddy-happy expression plastered on his face "Cute!" he didn't know much about unicorns aside from 'it's a horse with a pokey bit sticking out of its face' and so didn;t know it would shy away from men (although, Fai was hardly the most masculine of males anyway)

Violet smiled at Fenris before moving past him to approach the filly, at the same time as Fai. Feeling shy again, she hid behind her hair so the boy couldn't see her face, but crouched down to the unicorn's level so it could easily see her kind and gentle eyes. Sticking out a hand, she waited for the filly to get comfortable with her presence before attempting to pet it.

Kuro grumped when Fai ruffled his hair stopping himself from smacking the blonde, He pushed his hair back into place and stayed seated. He didnt need to pet some small horse with a horn, his life would be more or less without him needing to do that.
He watched the fake giddyness plastered on Fai's face but didnt say anything to the blonde, he shook his head and watched the others in the class move to pet the Filly as well.

Fai smirked as he glanced back to see Kurogane grumping and faffing with his hair to un-ruffle it....he tore his eyes away to concentrate on the creature in front of him. Kurogane was much more interesting to look at, and so cute when he was grumpy...but sadly he didn't think care of magical creatures included taming of the Kuro-woof.
He watched as Violet cautiously approached, and he let her go first...the foal looked skittish, and Fai fgured racing up and glomping it was probably not going to get him any points. He eyed the platter of sweet pastires and caught a glance of sugarcubes. He summoned one over to him and held it out for the foal, trying to entice it forward a little; horses liked sugarcubes.....or....was that saltlicks?

As everyone gathered up, the filly was naturally shy at first, she tried to hide behind Count, even as she was offered treats. Count D chuckled. "It's alright, dear. Here, perhaps you'd be more comfortable..." He glided over to his desk for a brief moment to pour some tea, and then sprinkled a strange powder in it. After a quick mix, he held the cup under the filly's muzzle. Hesitantly, she took a lick or two. Slowly, the more she drank, she began to transform. Little arms and legs took the place of her hooves, and her mane grew longer, curlier. Soon, a little girl, looking to be about 3 or four, stood in front of the glance. She gazed up at everyone with nervous, bright green eyes, and long blonde curls flowed down her back.

Fenris paused. "Huh?" The Professor had changed the Unicorn into a girl.... Why? How exactly were they supposed to learn about magical creatures when they were human?
He shrugged, and stepped forward, crouching down. "Hello little one. How are you? My name is Fenris." He extended a hand tentatively toward her.

Fai stepped back to let the teacher in, surprised at the effect of the 'tea' on the foal. Fai looked startled for a second, the long blonde hair giving him a flashback to his Brother....he covered it quickly with a false smile and an 'awww' but his heart was still racing. He'd been fine until the dementor attack, but after that the memories he'd tried so hard to repress had plagued him. Nightmares were more frequent, and he found himself seeing his brother out of the corner of his eye....of course, it was his imagination.
But now that the unicorn was a child-like girl, Fai felt kind of wrong going over to make a fuss of it. He drew back, letting the others talk to it, instead shifting to inspect the crup instead, offering that a treat through the bars.

Kuro looked a little shocked when the unicorn changed into a child, what did this have to do with care of magical creatures?
He watched deciding to just let the lesson play out, his eyes wandered to Fai. Watching him move to another cage as one of the other students moved to the small girl.

Violet stepped back in shock. Why had the professor turned the unicorn into a girl? Unsure of what to do now, she waited next to Fenris, who seemed to know what he was doing. Or at least really good at pretending to know.

Fai made a fuss of the Crup, feeding it scraps and skritching its ears gently "who's a cute doggy? You might even be cuter than Kuro-puppy over there...but don't tell him i said that" It wasn;t that he didnt appreciate creativity in a class, but he couldn't see himself looking after unicorns in his lifetime, let alone one that wasn't actually unicorn shaped. A crup on the other hand....well, he had a fondness for dogs.
