Eagerly, Shion whipped out her wand, ready to learn a new charm. Charms were her favorite, and her specialty; well, more-so hexes and curses than the goody-goody charms. However, this did involve cookies, after all, so who wouldn’t be excited?
“I’m ready!"

Mimiko smiled, excited simply because her students were excited. "Okay, to those of you older students, this charm may be a little basic, but it's a very commonly used spell first years. Repeat after me: Wingardium Leviosa!" One of the quills on her desk began levitating, and floated over to Shion's desk. Mimiko repeated the spell until there was a feathery quill on everyone's desk. "Now practice!"

Dave snuck into class, running late as usual. He was a bit more enthusiastic when it came to charms. While it was difficult enough to challenge him, he got results fast enough that it kept his interest. It still wasn't quite enough to make him give up his ironic chronic lateness, though.
The new decorations got a quirked eyebrow, visible even over his sunglasses - a big reaction by his standards. It looked like it was designed for little kids, not fifth-years who had OWLs to prep for. It wasn't enough to stop him taking a biscuit, though.

Mimiko smiled at the new Gryffindor. "Okay everyone, practice your Wingardium Levios Charms! First one to get the cookies down gets an extra one!" She handed a feather to the student that was late.

Jim was excited, he finally got the chance to try to make things fly. He raised his wand towards his feather first to practice.
“Wingardium Leviosa!” He said firmly. The feather began to move slightly, it wasn’t quite levitating, it was just fidgeting. Jim tried hard to keep his focus on the feather and mentally focused on trying to control it’s movements.

Once she heard what spell it was, she knew it would be quite easy for her. Since she was a 6th year, charms such as this almost came naturally. She curtly flicked her wand in the proper motion towards the feather, saying “Wingardium Leviosa~” with a bit of a tune in her voice. While it did take a few wobbly tries, Shion did get her feather levitating, though she had not been paying attention to the other students, and therefor was not quite sure if she was the first or not.

'Wingardium Leviosa, huh?' Well that was going to be simple enough, he had already learned that spell ages ago. Examining the feather for a few moments, Masaomi decided it was no good and skipped straight ahead to the cookie.
Swish and Flick~ "Wingardium Leviosa~" He aimed at the cookie, and also carefully floated it down on top of Shion's desk, flashing her a grin.

Rolling his eyes behind his shades, Dave swished and flicked, deciding to get some extra practice in on silent casting. He also "misaimed" a bit, causing a few spare pillows to levitate around the room.

As her feather floated in the air, Shion grinned. But suddenly, she saw the cookie land on her desk. With a soft smile, she picked it up, and looked over her shoulder towards Masaomi. She mouthed a quiet "thank you" to him.

He quickly flashed her a thumbs up before he turned back and stared with mock determination at his feather before repeating the process on it, steadily raising the feather into the air. He figured, in this class, it'd be best to focus on the work given to him, or focus on doing something, otherwise he'd let his mind wander to unwanted thoughts. He decided, after class was out, he'd have to have a talk with Katsuragi-sensei.

Shion watched Masaomi for a moment, but quickly turned her eyes to the cookie in her hand. She began to nibble on it, little bits at a time, not quite yet sure if it was alright to eat it.

Mimiko smiled at her students. They were so successful! Admittedly, most of them had probably done this spell before, but she was happy anyway. She turned to the rainbow haired girl, still asleep. "Sir-Pounce-A-Lot, sweetie... you should probably move...."

Amitola groaned, rolling onto her side. None of the people in this class knew how to be quiet. I guess I've got to get up. As she opened her eyes, she noticed all of the students out with their wands. "Oh...crap!" She bolted up, whipping her wand out from her back pocket. The cat, which may have fallen off by now, didn't seem of interest to her. Or perhaps she hadn't noticed it yet.

Mimiko watched the scene in horror. The tabby in question had fallen off of the girl's head. Rather unceremoniously. And he was not happy about it. His bell-collar ringing, he jumped into her lap, mewling angrily. He turned twice and sat, glaring at her with his kitty eyes.

Amitola leapt onto her feet, running as far away from the kitten as possible. This effectually put her near the one person who didn't want to be near her. "Not another one!"
