Fenris sat underneath a tree, enjoying the air. He wasn't even writing today, he was simply just enjoying the sunlight. This was a very peaceful, quiet day, and it was nice to be alone for once.

Violet had decided to spend the nice sunny day, peacefully sitting in a tree and enjoying her music. She didn't notice at first that Fenris had also chosen the same tree to sit under, her music lulling her into a clam doze, but by chance she happened to glance down and spot him. He wasn't the sort to talk much, but maybe she could try striking up a conversation with him. Removing her headphones, she slowly climbed down the tree, gracefully and quietly, until she leaned off the branch above Fenris. Grinning to herself, she tapped his shoulder.

Fenris jumped into attention, slightly scared. He saw Violet above her and looked at her curiously. "What...? Why are you... in a tree?"

Violet giggled at his reaction. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." She shrugged. "I like it up here. Easier to blend in and be alone when you have height and leaves to shield you."

He blinked at her. "I guess... That makes sense." He paused. "Were you trying to avoid someone in particular, or just the world?"

Violet shrugged again, laying fully along the branch and dangling a leg off, looking towards the lake instead of the boy she was talking to. "The world, I suppose." After a brief pause she continued. "And you? What are you hiding from, underneath a tree and by yourself?"

"A mild sprinkling of the world, accompanying a heathly scooping of myself with a side of reality." He smirked. It was good to finally find someone just as distrusting of the world and the people in it as he was.

She smiled. "You know you just made a reason for being alone sound delicious, right?" She watched a leaf dance in the breeze for a moment. "It's hard to find quiet places like this at Hogwarts. The castle's always so noisy. Especially the Gryffindor common room," she added, rolling her eyes and heaving a sigh.

"Heh." He chuckled. "You should be a Slytherin. There's almost always next to no one in our Common Room. They're all too busy sneaking out and playing tricks on other students. It' quite peaceful, really." He looked out toward the lake. "It's got a wonderful veiw."
{{Occ: That comic you recommended me was amazing, thank you. She needs a sequel!~}}

Violet merely shrugged. "And yet, the Sorting Hat placed me in Gryffindor. I wonder what difference he saw between us?" From the outside, the two of them certainly felt the same to her. She watched the lake as well. "Yes, the lake is often peaceful. I imagine the depths to be even more so. But the view from the tower is also quite spectacular, especially at night."
((OOC: You read it already?? And she does, actually. But it's one chapter and she hasn't updated in half a year. Check her profile; it's called Wasteland.))

"I agree. You must have more heart, I guess." He smirked. "Never been up to the tower. I've never thought to take any of those classes. I tried Divination once... That was bad. All the old teacher did was predict my death. This new teacher... I'm not so sure about her either. And then there's Astronomy..." He looked up at the fluffy white clouds in the sky. "I don't think I want my star-gazing interrupted by knowing the names of them." He shrugged. "But, to each his own. I'm a Care of Magical Creatures guy, and you seem to be pretty good with Potions.... Together we'd make a pretty good witch/wizard. Just minus magic." He winked.

"You don't seem that bad to me," Violet replied, but let it go at that. "The stars are nice, but I find my peace more in the moon. At least it gets to disappear for a few night each month." She swung her foot lazily as she turned her attention back down to Fenris. "I find myself too nervous to handle creatures with magical qualities. I suppose that's why I'm drawn to Potions and Herbology." She laughed. "I also enjoy flying, though I'm not exactly great at it. How about you?"

Fenris laughed. "I only learned to fly to impress someone. Our first... Date... If you could call it that was racing each other on the Quidditch feild." He shrugged. "Magical creatures fascinate me. They're like normal animals, only so much cooler." His eyes shone. "The animals in my neighborhood were my only friends. Especially the wolves that lived in the forest behind my house. That's what gave me my... nickname."

Violet laughed along with him. "My father taught me how to fly. It was the only time I ever felt like being different was just a little bit ok." She listened to the rest of his tale. So, he hadn't had any friends whilst growing up either? "Wolves? You made friends with wolves? Wow!" She tilted her head. "What nickname?"

Fenris averted his eyes, and sighed. "Technically... my name isn't Fenris. It's Leto. Leto means 'light or fun' in old Norse. Fenris means wolf. The kids... Gave me that name, and it just kind of stuck. I don't really answer to Leto any more..."
