"Yes, I do remember you mentioning flying was also not your strong suit." She grinned up at him, momentarily from her devoted petting of the baby. With her attention diverted, it walked behind her and suddenly took an interest in the weird contraption hanging round her neck, grabbing it in its mouth. "AH! Hey, no!" Violet snatched at her headphones, but the baby was just out of her sitting reach. "That's not food, you know," Violet scolded.

"Spit it out." Fenris asked kidly, holding his hand under the filly's mouth. She spat, and Fenris cleaned off the headphones before handing them off to Violet.
"Ah yes... Flying. There's only one reason I ever learned to fly, and her name was Amitola."

"Thanks," Violet sighed, taking the headphones from Fenris. "My brother gave me these before I left." She placed them around her neck again and patted the filly to let her know she was forgiven. The she gave a snort and quickly covered her mouth, faking a coughing fit. "W-wait. Amitola? R-realy?"

Fenris blushed furiously and looked down at the ground. "It's... a long story. She's abrasive, and self-absorbed, and very tom-boyish, but... I like her."

Violet giggled. "Yes you certainly do." She had to admit, Fenris in love was pretty cute, and the fact that it was Amitola...well, she didn't think it would last that long honestly, but she didn't feel like saying that to Fenris either. "I hope she returns your feelings," was all she said in reply.
((OOC: Hey, can you reply to my post in Charms already? Violet doesn't want to sit there doing nothing!))

Fenris kicked a rock in response. He noticed that the other baby unicorn, also a filly, was following Violet relatively closely. He didn't say anything. It'd be awesome if it just kept following her, even when they returned to Hogwarts.
He heard a howl in the distance. He recognized the sound. It was his wolf friends, from the Forest. The Unicorns scattered, all except for the baby, which hid behind Violet.
His Pack friends burst into the clearing, surrounding them in a circle. They were a bit large, for wolves, and Fenris attributed this to the fact that they lived in the Forbidden Forest and were probably slightly magical. Most of them were in dark browns and blacks, and a particularly large one set in the deepest color strode forth and made eye contact with Fenris.
He bowed, keeping his eyes on the wolf. He growled lightly, and the wolf responded with a similar sound.

Violet was still petting the filly when a howl disrupted the unicorns and sent them running. Another filly hid behind her, and as a pack of wolves emerged from the forest, Violet held back a scream and clung to the filly's mane. These weren't ordinary wolves, which would have been bad enough. These were huge! Within seconds, they were surrounded, and Violet watched, terrified, as Fenris bowed to the darkest one of them. He made a growling sound, and Violet remembered he could talk to these creatures. With wide eyes, she stayed completely still and silent.

Fenris glanced behind him at Violet, who looked terrified. He knew that the best thing for her would be to disperse the wolves as quickly as possible, but this wasn't his Home Pack. He didn't have the kind of pull here that he had at home. If he was there, a simply howl would clear them out right away: most of the "adults" now had been puppies that he'd helped raise.
But these wolves were different. They accepted him, yes, but with all the trepidation of any culture accepting a foreigner into their ranks. Yes he acted right and spoke the same words, but with an accent of a different Pack. A dangerous game to play in the canine world.
He gave a small bark, bowing deeper. An Alpha always liked to be shown respect. He twisted his head towards the ground, and whined.
Leave her out of this. Her and the human. They are not part of your hunt.

Violet watched Fenris, the fear slowly fading to anxiety. He seemed to have a handle on the situation, although something also seemed a little off. Her body was telling her to stand and flee, but since Fenris was taking such care to keep his bowed position, she knew that it would be better to stay exactly where she was on the ground. The filly tried to remove herself from Violet's grip, but she refused to let go, holding her even tighter and closer. There was no way those wolves were making a meal out of her unicorn!

The Alpha growled, his tail raising a little. You give us a lot of trouble, boy.
Fenris stood, adopting a similar stance. His face became very serious, and he sneered a little, emiting a low growl. Alpha, don't make this about me. She's an innocent Unicorn, and the human girl is my friend.
The wolf looked at him and gave a series of quick barks, almost like laughter. I thought you didn't have any friends, youngblood.
Fenris placed himself between Violet and the Alpha, and sunk into a lower challenge position. Alpha....

The sounds coming from both the wolf and Fenris were becoming increasingly threatening. When Fenris moved to stand in between Violet and the wolf protectively, she knew something was going wrong in their communication. She didn't dare move yet, but she mentally planned out where her wand was and what spell she would use first. Hopefully a shield charm would be enough.

The Aplha glared between Fenris and Violet. He howled, and all of the other wolves shot to attention. Even Fenris stood a little straighter.
We still need to EAT boy. We have pups to feed.
Then eat something else. There are plenty of creatures in the Forest. He gave Violet a backwards glance. He mumbled something unintelligable to her in English.

She had no clue what Fenris had just told her to do. "W-What?" But that was all she could formulate into a sentence before a sudden icy chill swept through her veins. Sad thoughts swarmed into the fore of her mind, forcing her to think of all the humiliation and lonliness she had suffered before Hogwarts. Tears streaming down her face, she was unable to move, unable to think, except to bury her face in the unicorn's side and tremble.

Fenris was going to reply to the wolf, give him an angry statement to follow up, but he suddenly felt an invisible, chill wind rip through his systems. He was suddenly filled with memories of Tobias, his best and greatest friend, at his funeral.
He was brought to his knees in seconds, but fought against the strain, struggling to stand. Luckily, the wolves seemed to pick up the feeling too, and the sense of danger sent them scurrying.
Fenris managed to looke over at Violet, and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, even though his eyes mirrored her pain.
