"Yeah, a bit, I guess." Violet was no longer cold, but she still felt incredibly sad, for no reason, which was just stupid because Fenris was now holding her! She did manage to at least blush at the thought.

And then the music cut off and the door flew open.
The candles flickered and went out, leaving the gap-toothed faces of the jack-o-lanterns the only light in the hall. The bespelled glow illuminated dark figures in the doorway, each over ten feet tall and covered in dark cloaks. For a long moment they hovered motionless in the doorway.

Casting a quiet Lumos, 'Shion' drew her finger over frozen glass. The light from her wand did little to reveal the outside of the window. Suddenly, the lights were gone. Whipping around, she stared at the hooded figures with growing horror. Dementors. 'Shion' dashed towards 'Anri' and Masaomi, not noticing when her hat fell off.

'Anri' gasped with surprise as the doors suddenly flew open, and she turned, seeing the ominous figures. She reached into her kimono and removed her wand, which had been securely attached to the inside, and aimed it at them, ready for whatever. The overwhelming cold enveloped her, as did many various negative emotions. She instinctively grabbed on to Masaomi's arm, seeking some kind of comfort.

Doyle whirled around to face the door, holding Mimiko closer to himself. His broom clattered to the ground as he took out his wand and pointed it at the Dementors. How had the dark creatures gotten into the castle?

Mimiko pushed him off. "I can handle myself! Go protect the students!" She moved to one side of the room, knowing that Doyle was more than sufficient enough to take care of himself.

Fenris stood in front of Violet, again protectively. He raised his wand, not entirely sure what these creatures were, which was for him. Normally he knew all of the magical creatures in existence. "Stay behind me Violet!"

Yellow suddenly lost sight of everything, surrounded by the enclosing darkness and suddenly just about frozen in her thin dress. Her heart practically stopped as she was seized by all of her most negative emotions at the same time. She had never felt this horrible before and had no idea what could have caused it.

The second she felt the cold Celty had tried to get out of the Great Hall. Unfortunately, navigating through the crowded dance floor to reach the door the fastest way possible turned out to be the worst thing she could have done. When she finally broke free of the crowd she was the first to glimpse the dark figures before the lights completely shut off. This made her one of the closest students to the door, but also the student that wanted to run the farthest from it. She knew what those things were. They were dementors. And those were things that she feared above almost anything else.

They were still only for a second, just long enough for everyone to take in their menacing appearance, before they began to move. The Dementors glided forward and into the hall. The enchanted lights in the jack-o-lanterns were still on, but they didn't seem to need the light. They gravitated towards what they'd felt was was the center of positive emotions earlier; first one separated from the pack and drifted towards Violet and Fenris. Another few made their way towards both Shion and Anri. Even the first years weren't exempt, as one began to glide towards Yellow and Jim...

Yellow began tremble in fright, the negative emotions becoming overwhelming as the source got closer, she felt as if all the happiness was leaving her body.
"H-H-H-Help!" She startled even herself by her ability to even get the almost inaudible words out when she was this afraid.

Violet clung to Fenris, terrified, the sadness deepening as one of the dementors separated from the others and started to glide towards them. She gripped her wand, but it shook horribly in her hand and she didn't even know what she was supposed to do to protect herself.

Just as she reached her friends, the dementors began to move. As five of them gravitated towards the trio, 'Shion' felt darkness sink through her. Saika was whispering now, louder with every passing second. "Shion-senpai," she ground out, "We have to... P-Patronus... Charm."

Mimiko stood in front of Jim and Yellow, shielding them with her arm and raising her wand. "Expecto Patronum!" She yelled as the fully corporeal form of a light-blue cat, much like Sir-Pounce-A-Lot, burst from her wand. She thought of Doyle as she did so, and was surprised at the Patronus' strength.

Fenris heard, over the commotion of other people's screams, Professor Katsuragi yell a spell. ~If she uses that, then it MUST be what to use!~ He pointed his wand at the nearing creature, and murmured the spell, but nothing happened. The sense of cold creeping up on him was growing, and he wasn't sure how long he could fight against it.
