Edge looked in shock as his quill was buried into the wall by Fenris' quill. He shot a withering glare at the younger Slytherin as he walked over to the wall and pried his quill out. He kept Fenris', of course. He pocketed both quills and walked back to his seat, plotting his (most likely petty) act of revenge.

Fenris smiled and pulled another quill out of his messanger bag, wiggling it at Edge as if to say, 'I do have more, you know. It was utterly useless for you to take it.' He could get used to having a rival, of sorts. It might make things a bit more interesting. Weren't Slytherins supposed to have a rival Gryffindor anyway? The boys back in the Common Rooms would be so proud.

Edge nearly popped a blood vessel when he saw that smug Slytherin pull another quill out. Without even thinking, he slipped out his wand and spun it around his fingers again, murmuring under his breath. Not a second after he finished murmuring, the quill in Fenris' hand turned into a full-fledged millipede. Edge leaned in his seat and smirked. that should show that smug ounk who's boss.

Fenris blinked at the millipede in his hand. He'd seen them all the time when he ventured into the forests around his house. He'd tried to keep one as a pet once, but they were very complicated animals and it had not ended well for the bug.
Taking a glance at the teacher, he noticed he was distracted with another student, and so Fenris walked to the door and released the millipede onto the ground, watching it scurry off. He hurriedly returned to his seat.
He stole a glance at Edge. There wasn't really anything he could do back. His magical skills weren't reliable, and he'd just end up embarrassing himself before actually doing anything useful.

Edge frowned slightly. No screams? No panic attacks? No nothing? This Slytherin kid was no fun to taunt anymore. He turned away, his squirrelish attention span already distracted by something else.

The entire time Edge and Fenris were having their little one-up show, Violet just sort of sat there in shock. This was a whole side of Fenris she had never seen before, a competitive side. She flinched back in disgust as his quill turned into a millipede, but once it was disposed of and the boys' fight seemed to be over with, she fidgeted with her hair and asked quietly, "A-are you quite done with that?"

Fenris paused. He'd totally forgotten about Violet until just now. Apologizing, he looked at her. "I'm sorry. I just..." He thought. He was mainly protecting his honor, that's what it had boiled down to. He was very defensive when it came to teasing. Simply a symptom of upbrining.

During the whole show, Shion simply sat, watching the two men act like boys. It was annoying to watch them, yet somehow amusing. She sighed, and plucked her wand from her side, twirling it in her dainty fingers. “Boys, boys, nothing to do with them but zap them into place.” She eyed the two, a brow raised, as if daring them to make a pass back at her.

"It's no problem, I understand, it was just...different. Weird. I've never seen you get like that." She giggled, brushing her hair back and sitting up straighter so as to show Fenris she wasn't angry or scared or anything. Violet glanced back at Shion. She wouldn't really, would she?

Edge tensed up. He wasn't sure if Shion would really hurt him, but he wasn't quite ready to test her on that. "S-sorry, Shion-hime..."

Fenris paused. Would Shion really zap him? He didn't think so... But she might...

Shion smiled with a sot giggle, and placed her wand on her desk beside the rose. "That's alright!"

Edge relaxed a little. He would live, at least for now. He shot a quick glance at Fenris, pulled up his mask enough for his mouth to be visible and mouthed the words "we're not done here." He turned back to Shion. "So, Shion-hime, are you going to the dance later this month?"

Zoning back in on the situation at hand, Anri looked in confusion from one person to another. She had failed to pay attention to the battle between Edge and Fenris, which left her wondering at Shion's expression. Thus, she tapped on the older girl's shoulder. "Shion-senpai? What's going on?"

Fenris gave Edge a confirmatory nod, and turned back to Violet, busying himself before Shion could scold him some more.
