Fenris sighed. So this was going to be THAT kind of a class. Two could play at that game, but he'd hold his tongue for now. No way was he going to let some chauvanistic showoff compete for top student of a nonmagical class.

Shion snorted a bit once she spotted the brand that held the band-aids Edge needed. She found Fenris' answer interesting, and even remembered learning about something like that a while ago. She had never really paid attention in classes like these, which is probably why she was no good at them. However, it seemed to her that Edge was trying to outdo Fenris, and to that, she rolled her eyes. "Oh, my..."

Edge frowned slightly. "Uh, did I do something wrong, Shion-hime?" All he had done was announce practically the same thing as Fenris, just better.

Isabela noticed the spark of competition almost immediately. From what she gathered, Edge was not one to back down from a challenge, but Fenris always wanted to be on top in a nonmagical class. "You and Fenris are in a testosterone battle, Edge." She replied.

Edge blinked. "Testosterone...?" He remembered hearing the word somewhere, but he couldn't remember it's meaning. He scratched behind his head absentmindedly, thinking. "I just didn't want Fenris-san to be ahead of me in this class."

Isabela giggled. "Yes, testosterone. The male gene that makes you want to be the Alpha-male. In animals, it makes them want all the pretty females for themselves. In humans, who have different views of 'pretty'..." She looked pointedly at Fenris, still a little peeved that he'd ignored her. "It just makes men want to outdo all the others around them. I saw it on my dad's ship ALL THE TIME."

"Ahhhhh" edge replied. Now it made sense. He spun his quill in between his fingers, wondering something. "So wait, the way you said 'pretty,' it seemed like you were angry at Fenris-san. It may not be entirely my place, but why so?" He rubbed lightly against his band-aids, hoping no one could see the feminine print on them.

Isabela sighed. "He ignored me, of course. The first boy ever." She glared at Fenris heatedly.

Edge sat dumbfounded. "someone found YOU unattractive?" His eyes seemed to burn. "How dare he!"

"I found out he's in love with this other girl, Amitola. You may not have met her yet, though she IS a Gryffindor. It still didn't give him the right to ignore me." She huffed indignantly.

~Great.~ Fenris thought to himself, watching Isabela and the Gryffindor, Edge, talk. ~Now she's using her feminine charms to twist him to her side.~ He rolled his eyes at her and turned to the front, patiently waiting for the Professor to start class.

Edge placed a comforting hand on Isabela's shoulder. "If it helps, I think you're a very attractive young lady." He smiled lightly, a slight rosy tint coloring his cheeks.

"Thank you." Isabela smiled at him. FINALLY, someone who noticed. She vowed to show him her skills later, since he was another very fast, very cocky, roguish character. She might even enjoy it.
She'd never really shared her skills with anyone though, because no one had ever really shown that they were interested in the same things.
"She pointed to the quills, referring to the trick he'd done earlier. "You MUST show me how to do that sometime."

Edge looked at the quill he was twirling in his hands. "Oh, my little trick where I knock a quill into the air with another quill? It's easy, really. You just need good aim." He smiled as he expertly threw his quill at Fenris', knocking both into the air again before using his wand to bring his own back. "For not acknowledging Isabela-hime."

Fenris sighed, and retrieved his quill from the ground. Two could DEFINITELY play at this game. He'd grown up in the forests, basically, trying to avoid everyone he could. He'd gotten a bow once, and practiced and practiced until he was amazing with it.
Taking aim carefully, he shot his quill back, snatching Edge's out of his hand. His quill hit the opposite wall, burying it's tip deep. It therefore pinned Edge's quill to the wall underneath it.
