Fenris laughed. "Not at all." He'd often tried to find any explanation to the science behind it, but since he wasn't a werewolf or an animagus, there hadn't been any medical explanation readily available.
"I've never thought about talking to Dr. Kishitani. I wasn't aware he'd be interested in such things."

Fai looked surprised when another student stepped out from behind one of the thestrals further away. He recognised the voice, and when the boy spoke about wolves it clicked...it was one of the students who'd been in the forest last month, when a pack of wolves had attacked. He stayed quiet now, uneasy with another person who might start asking questions.

Fenris turned to the blond boy. He'd seen him before, when he'd protected that group of students in the Forbidden Forest from the wolves. "I'm Fenris, but I never caught your name...?" He directed it toward the blond boy, but meant it for both him and the girl without a head.

She considered this. "My name is Celty. Perhaps you wouldn't mind coming into the hospital wing when you have some free time. I'm sure Shinra would like to look you over, and I would stop him from doing anything interesting." She pointed her quill toward the blonde student. "I don't remember his name, but I'm sure that he's in Ravenclaw based on his tie and you must be in Slytherin."

A theastral had strode over and had tried to shove a boney face into the bag that Fai was carrying, so he got a bit distracted from the conversation, but when he had finally chucked some meat for the creature to stop it trying to eat his school bag, he looked up and noticed what Celty had written. He held back a sigh at already being forgotten...he supposed that the Slytherins conversation had held the girls interest far better, and it wasn't like he'd given his real name anyway. "Fai." he said softly, then petted the coarse mane of the beast that had come back for more, letting the pair chat and letting his thoughts drift.
(sorry for delayed reply...went to the funfair after work <3 )

Celty heard Fai as if he had spoken in a regular tone of voice. "OH! Your name is Fai?" She was quite interested in the way he seemed to be upset. Did he not like the Slytherin?

Fenris noticed that too. He was afraid the boy might not like him, simply because he was a Slytherin.

it wasn't that Fai disliked slytherins (though he was cautious around them) but it was one of the two days of the year that fai found his mask slipping, and his smile hard to keep up. He nodded a little at Celtys question "yep" he replied, trying to force a smile as he skritched the thestral behind the ear, making it whinney although the noise was not like a horses, it was hollower and a tad creepy.

Fenris smiled at him reassuredly. "So, what brings you two to the Thestrals today?"

Yayoi gracefully ran down from the school. She needed to get out of the school, it felt more than ever like a prison... She stared at the other students for a short time, listening to their conversation. Eventually, she felt comfortable enough to approach them. "Hello." She said slowly, staring at the the thestrals. "What are those?" She asked, completely ignoring the odd presences of the other students, completly emmaoured by the transediant grace of the skelatal creatures.

Celty turned to the new girl who had approached them and wrote. "Those are called Thestrals. Who are you?"

"Suzuka." Yayoi said, giving her last name. "These thestrals... why haven't I seen them before?"

fai shuffled a little closer to the creature, as if he was trying to hide behind it. He kept petting, hearing the question and trying to think of a suitable and plausable lie. He shrugged a little "i just needed to get away from the castle for a little bit" there, that wasn't a complete fib. He was distracted from elaborating by another student. It seemed there were more than a couple of students who had watched someone die...that saddened fai

"I felt the same way..." Yayoi confided sadly. Shaking her head, she returned to the original inquiry. "Why have I never seen these thestrals before?"

"You can see them because you watched someone die. It is not something to be proud of." Celty hadn't expected to meet any students in the forest, and definitely not students who could see thestrals.
