"I've been able to see them since my First year here. I really think they're beautiful."

Yayoi paled at Celty assertion. "What...? That means...." Yayoi's world began to spin, the entire focus of the woods and the beautiful, terrible creatures, all blured into one. "It.... It was..... real?" Yayoi said, grabing a tree to steady herself. "No... They.... I.... failed?"

"Whoever you saw died is now dead. There is no way to say this delicately, I'm sorry Suzuka." Celty turned to Fenris. "They are beatiful. And majestic."

Yayoi took a few deep breaths, attempting to calm herself. "Who did you see die?" She asked, oblivious to the normal social order of things. "I saw my parents... yesterday..."

Fai stayed clear of that conversation, not wanting to go into that. Still, he felt bad for the girl...especially if she only thought it had been a dream. He chucked some more meat scraps for the rest of the heard that were milling around.

Yayoi shook her head, determined not to make a fool of herself infront of the others. Her mother would tell her she must regain composure as a woman, never let herself break down...

Celty waited for Fai's reply. "Fai? She just asked who you saw die? Are you going to answer Suzuka?" She was fine with telling what she had seen, it had never phased her. But she wanted to know the same information from everyone else first. Or she might not share.

"I didn't ask anyone in particular" Yayoi said blandly, slipping into her dark corner of her brain so that she may deal with the grief the thestrals brought about. They were so beautiful, in their barren way...

Fai looked a little shocked at how forward they were; something like that was more often than not private. He really wanted to turn around and just say 'No'....instead he shrugged and replied with another half truth "D-Don't know. There was an accident in the village...." he looked away and returned to petting the thestral.

Celty was satisfied with the answer...for now. But she was sure that Fai was hiding something. And she had figured out that it was a much darker secret than anyone else possessed. "I saw my parents die. They were killed because of their debts. I do not miss them much."

fais fingers tangled in the coarse mane, and he peered at celtys reply from under the boney muzzle. At least she seemed to have bought it...mentally however he was apologising to his brother for lying and esentially calling him a nobody. He was surprised by celtys very straight foward explanation...by now fai figured she was quite the opposite of him; she told it like it was, no playing games and no dancing around subjects....blunt, and weirdy observant for someone with no eyes.
He wanted to ask how she did it....how she could distance herself from the pain of losing a loved one, but he didnt want more questons, so let the others share their stories.

Yayoi frowned and walked closer to Fai. "No, a random killing in your village wouldn't cause you that much pain. It was someone very close to you who died..." Yayoi sighed. "I wish I could have saved my parents... and the pain you seem to be feeling... it's similar..." Yayoi looked off to the side, her empathy taping into Fai's pain and Celty's indifferance.

Fenris looked down at the ground. He wasn't even sure, out of the two things he'd seen die, which one caused him to see the Thestrals. But he hadn't lost a parent or anything like that.
"I watched my grandmother die." His father's grandmother. "She died of cancer though." He paused. Should he explain his other story? Everyone would probably just think him strange...
"I don't think it was her, though, that made me see them." There. He'd leave at that. They could inquire if they wanted.

as the girl spoke, fai felt sick. He hadn't told anyone about the incident, not even kurogane who was....well fai wasn't sure what kurogane was to him after the hogsmeade excursion, but still.
"i don't know what you're talking about" he muttered, keeping his focus on the creature as if it was a security blanket. He disn't need this....not on their birthday. He didn't want anyone to see that side of him...and he definatly didn't want anyone to see him cry.

Sensing the strenth he was expending to continue this conversation, Yayoi quickly hugged Fai, then retreated to speak to Fenris. "It's always terrible to watch someone die... I've been listening to ghosts tell me how they died since I was very little...."
