Celty wasn't quite detatched, she just hadn't truly felt much pain. Her parents had never truly acted as such...and she had felt alone in the world from the time she was very young. The only time they had acted as parents was one of the last times she saw them. She wasn't sure what was different with the others who were here.

Fenris looked at Fai, then at Celty, then at Yayoi. He sighed, and returned to petting a Thestral. These three were making HIM feel detatched.
"The only other thing I've seen die..." He stared down at the ground. The memory really was quite painful. "His name was Tobias. He was the Alpha of the wolf pack around my house. He was the one that taught me not to fear wolves, that they weren't threatening or scary. He was the wolf who took me under his wing, teaching me their language and culture. He taught me that I could raise pups just as effectively as a mother wolf, and I hunted alongside their packs with my bow. He was like... a father to me. Much more attentive than my real father."
"But one day, I came to visit the pack and... Tobias was dying. He made me promise, before he died, to always keep my special bond to the pack, and any other pack I should meet..." He looked a little embarrassed now. Honestly, everyone would probably tease him for being that obsessed with a wolf.

Yayoi didn't think it was stupid at all. She quickly hugged Fenris then retreated just as quickly. "It must have been very difficult... to lose your father like that..." Looking at the ground, she absentmindedly pat a thestral and began her musings. "Perhaps... we all came here because we've all been hurt... and we.... wanted comfort from people who understand... does that make sense?"

Celty didn't consider herself hurt, she felt incomplete. The only time she really felt like she was normal was when she was with those beautiful creatures. "I'm sorry for your loss Fenris."

Fai had flinched a little at the hug; usually he was a huggy, outgoing and annoyingly happy person (even if it was faked, simply so people didn't worry about him) but today was not any ordinary day. Today he was reminded sorely that he was only half of himself.
He listened to Fenris's story, feeling a little bad that he hadn't shared his real one when all the others were open and honest about it....but he couldn't. Only he and his adoptive father knew the whole of it, and that was the way Fai wanted to keep it. He murmured the usual sympathetic comments, and then pondered what Yayoi added. He disagreed, yet said nothing. He came down here every year on this day not for the company of humans, but because of what seeing these meant. Whilst seeing these were a poor substitute for having his brother, he would take what he could get.

Yayoi pondered the emotions swirling around the woods and the thestrals. How could so few people feel so many things...? It was odd for her, and she wondered exactly how long it would take for those gathered to feel ... complete? Content? Happy? She didn't know, but hoped that the fog would clear soon.

Celty instinctively knew that Fai was hiding something incredibly painful. And Suzuka was actually trying to help. This was interesting. Perhaps one of them had seen her head...

How to continue...? How could Yayoi help them, she wondered. Yayoi started, blinking. Why did she want to help these people? Did she... did she actually LIKE them? As friends? Yayoi frowned, pondering this possibility for a new devolpment.

the thestral nuzzled fai's hand, and the blonde had a sudden urge to just hop up and take a ride, needing to get away. He knew they flew...he'd seen soaring over the forest and castle.
Without a second thought, fai carefully stepped up onto a rock behind him, then clambered up onto the beasts back, making sure to avoid the wings with his feet. The creatures flank was boney under him....it wasn't going to be a comfy ride, but he didn't mind. He petted the thestrals mane, calming it as it had started to stomp its hooves a little, surprised. "...it's ok, shadow-san...." he then addressed the others with a frced smile that did'nt reach his eyes "brooding on the past will do no good....It's a nice evening for a ride, don't you think?"

Yayoi started at Fai's sudden declaration, then blushed. She had always agreed that the past was basically useless. Suddenly, everything she had said was stupid, childish, and frivilous. She started at the blonde on the thestral. "How do they fly?" She asked simply, hoping her flush had gone down.

fai glanced down at yayoi, blinking. He reached down, fingers sliding over the leathery skin covered skeletal wings. "They may not look like much, but thestral's can fly well..." he had to distract people from the questions, and from letting people see him emotionally break down.

Yayoi looked at the thestrals. "They trust you that much?" She asked, astounded by Fai's ... what was it? His affect on the natural world, she supposed.

fai shrugged a little, still petting the thestral so it remained calm. Celty had been here often enough that they would trust her, by the sounds of it. And if fenris could handle wolves, then likely he'd be fine with other creatures. As for himself, he'd come here a few times too..."they're used to students...they pull the carriages to and from the castle every year...."

Yayoi nodded, the bowed slightly. "I'm sorry for bothering you. If you are going flying, I hope you have a good flight."

Celty quickly wrote her reply. "I hope you enjoy your flight, I cannot wait to speak with you more."
