Hearing the teacher's words, Shion grew a bit nervous. "Float? I..." she then looked down. She squeaked and jumped, only to find herself suspended even higher. "Ah, ah!" She waved her arms frantically, like a bird desperate to escape a predator. The more she flapped, the higher she went. The stars were wonderful and all, and soon she began to calm, and simply enjoyed floating. She wanted to find Polaris, as the teacher instructed, but she didn't know where to look. Everything looked the same, yet different, and if she had tried looking, she'd only get lost and confused. Instead, she floated off on her own, acting as if she were looking, but she was only taking in the view of space in solitude.

Looking around, Anri first located the Sun, which was the star nearest to the earth and the one in the center of the milky way. From there she located the earth and she set off in the direction of her home planet. As she moved along, it suddenly occurred to her that since she was floating she could move in a different way. Leaning forward, she began the 'swim' towards the earth.

How were they supposed to find a constellation if it didn't look like a constellation anymore? Gumball drifted, stumped, for a few minutes, before realizing his classmates had already gotten to work. He had to hurry up if he wanted to complete the assignment. He turned slowly on the spot, looking for Earth. Once he'd located it, it was only a matter of heading outwards from the north pole, right? He might be wrong, but it was worth a try. He struck out into the darkness, the noise of his classmates fading behind him.

Shion's aimless floating certainly wasn't getting her anywhere on the assignment, not that she really cared at the moment, she just loved being here. "Maybe I can convince professor Rosalina to let me come in here by myself sometime..." she mumbled to herself. She rolled onto her back and got comfy, gazing up at the stars as if she were lying on the ground. "Pretty~" she purred.

Finally getting reasonably close to the Earth (which was now below her), Anri looked around for the brightest star in the sky. There was no way she'd be able to identify the Little Dipper, but Polaris by itself was a simpler task. Tilting her body to the left, facing away from the earth, she spotted a star that seemed just a bit larger than the ones around it. It was probably Polaris. Once more, she pushed off through the endless vacuum that was called space, eyes focused on the unblinking star.

Shion closed her eyes to relax, not necessarily to sleep, but it would seem that way should anyone catch her. However, she bumped into someone, jerking her out of her relaxation. "Oops, sorry!" She grinned sheepishly and turned to face the person she bumped into.

Violet, unnoticed by the rest of the class, floated along peacefully in the projected space. It was beautiful, reminding her of the clear view of the sky from her bedroom window. Now, if she remembered correctly, she needed to find the big and little dippers. Polaris wasn't an exceptionally bright star. There were several brighter than it after all. Drifting above the Earth, she flipped over so she was on her back, sweeping her hair behind her ears so she could see better. Her eyes settled on something that looked like the big dipper from her angle. All she had to do now was draw a line from the bottom two stars and she'd have Polaris!

Well, Gumball was well and truly lost. He had no idea where the star was or how to get to it; he couldn't even see Earth anymore. Despite that, he wasn't perturbed. He trusted Professor Starr to remove them safely from the crystal ball when they were done. He was a little disappointed that it seemed he wouldn't be the one to complete the assignment first, but it couldn't be helped. Besides, it was peaceful out here. He was almost tempted to take a nap, although the idea of taking a nap during a class was blasphemous.

Halfway to the star, Anri spotted the little dipper above her. Immediately changing course, she floated off in the new direction.

Tracing a line in her head, Violet's eyes landed on the little dipper and the star that made the tip of the ladle. Polaris! Floating towards it, she stretched out her hand, hoping to be the first to touch it. If she was, then the class would finally realize she was there. And the whole nice surprise thing...yeah, that was important, too.

Anri spotted a dark haired girl just as she reached the star. "Hello?" she called out. "Have we met yet?" The girl was unidentifiable from the back.

As Shion looked up, she noticed she bumped into Marshall. "Ah, hey." She poked his chest, pushing herself away and into the air above him. "You have any idea what we're doing? I'm not into this..." she looked around, "finding stars thing. I look at them on my own time."

Hearing someone call out, Violet whirled around and spotted a Ravenclaw girl. She recognized her from class, was pretty sure her name was Anri, but had of course never talked with her. Except for a few fellow Gryffindors, she tended to fade into the background for most people. Violet looked at the star, then back at the girl. Should she go ahead and touch it or answer the girl? Was she even speaking to her in the first place? Timidly, she smiled down at the girl and then pointed at herself in question. "Are you talking to me?"

He smiled, offering a shrug. "You honestly think I have any idea what I'm doing? Heck, I'm just along for the ride." He laughed, relaxing back. The background of space with its shining stars and planets offered the best environment for a nap. Think about it. Pitch black space with only a few stars [and maybe planets in the way] offering light. Perfect sleeping environment. He yawned, letting his bubble float around to wherever it really felt like going; he wasn't going to complain.

Shion nodded in complete agreement. "Yeah, me too." She floated above him, looking down at him. "I wouldn't fall asleep, though. If the teacher catches you, I'll have to take points. I wouldn't have earlier if it weren't for the teacher." She snickered. "Like I said at the party; your jokes are funny. It sucks I'm a prefect and have to take off points for funny things." She drifted down beside him.
