Satoshi-kun...
Shion sat in the middle of an open field, just outside the Forbidden Forest. The clouds were an ominous grey color, and threatened her with flashes of lightning. Thunder rolled in the distance like a hungry beast, but Shion was not afraid. No, she feared nothing anymore, not at times like these. Times of quiet.
Nature was not quiet, but no voices rang in her ears, only the ones in her mind. Which was how she liked it. Shion wrapped her robe tightly around her, and pulled her knees to her chest, resting her chin on them. Her eyes were hollow, emotionless; her face solemn. Her new friends brought of memories of her old ones, and Gumball ignited an old flame in her heart. Despair and confusion, she had held them back for the past few days, since the party. But now, out here, she could think back to those happy times in Hinamizawa, before everything happened.
Also, she could cry. That was why she came here, to cry without being laughed at. As the memories flooded her already clouded mind, tears began to streak her warm, pink cheeks, and she dug her nails into her skin. Satoshi-kun, Satoshi-kun, Satoshi-kun, Satoshi-kun! She began to sob, not holding anything back. Her heart ached for the boy she so loved but had lost. She missed the little things she loved the most; his eyes, smile, voice, the way he would rub her head. She reached a shaky hand up to touch the same spot he had, and she unfolded herself, sprawling out on the ground as she cried and wailed.
It began to rain then. And she thanked God that it did.

He couldn't take his mind off of the conversation he had just had with Katsuragi-sensei, and thinking about it just made him glum. It made him think of her. His face scrunched up with disgust in himself, the only thing making it go away was the sudden rain drops that began pattering at his head. Cursing to himself he hurried along quickly, using his book as a make shift umbrella.
He only stopped when he saw Shion. She obviously looked upset, and that bothered Masaomi. Concerned, he walked up to her side silently and shrugged off his robe, holding it over her head to shield her from the rain. "Shion...?" He called out to her quietly, his face clearly showing concern and worry.

Her eyes tightly closed, and the rain pouring against the ground, she did not hear the oncoming footsteps. Her fingers dug at the ground as she released her anguish into the wet earth; until...
"Shion...?"
In a panic, she sat up, her wand at the ready. "Avada-" with a horrified gasp, she gazed up into dark eyes. "Satoshi-kun?!" She dropped her wand onto the sopping ground, and crawled beneath the shelter he held up for her. Her eyes were wide with amazement, and a sad grin crossed her face. "Satoshi-kun!" She desperately hugged his legs, nuzzling her face into his pants. Of course she knew it wasn't really her love, she was only hallucinating, but she wanted this one to last so much longer than any other. Se almost needed it to.

Masaomi nearly lost his balance when Shion suddenly gripped onto his legs, almost tripping entirely. 'Satoshi-kun!'...Who was Satoshi? He carefully tried to recall the names of any of the students he had met, but no matter how hard he thought he couldn't remember anyone with that name...
After a silent moment or two he reached down and gently pried her arms off of his legs so he could sit beside her.

As the realization swept over her that this wasn't even an illusion of her love, she began to sob again. She collapsed into Masaomi's arms, not even really caring how much of a fool she looked like for once. She hid her face in her hands, her face flushed from her tears. The rain had soaked her hair and clothing, making them stick to her to give her the resemblance of a drowned rat; or a pathetic human being.
"Masaomi-kun, I'm sorry..." She had known it was him the entire time in the back of her mind; he was the only one that resembled Satoshi in any way.

"Hey now, it's okay..." Masaomi said softly, holding her in a relaxed embrace and smiling comfortingly to her. "...Wanna talk about it?" He realized he still had absolutely no idea what was troubling her, and that bothered him.

With a few sniffs and hiccups, Shion shook her head. "No, no, you'll hate me, be afraid of me..." She pulled herself away from his warm and comforting embrace, to stand up, facing towards the forest. "I don't want anyone to get hurt, Masaomi-kun..." tears dripped from her chin, but her voice didn't waiver, "I can't lose anyone else because of my stupidity anymore..." She was talking more to herself than to him, but she wanted to say it out loud, as if to confirm it with herself: she was dangerous to everyone.

Masaomi frowned and remained seated on the ground. He was somewhat in awe of the resolve her words carried, the firm sort of resolve he himself lacked. "Considering....considering some of the things I've done, I don't think I could ever bring myself to hate you."

Shion laughed at that; the scary, horrific laugh she would use during her spots of insanity. "I assure you, Masaomi-kun," she turned her head to look at him, her eyes wide, a devious smile playing on her lips, "you would run from me, and never speak to me again if you knew my sins."

What in the world was going on? Anri had been taking a walk before the rain had started, and had been forced to take cover in the Forbidden Forest. She had stayed near the edge in case the wolves from the other night came again, but her new problem was completely unrelated to them.
Seeing Shion come completely undone was a mindrattling experience. The fact that Shion had no idea of her presence just made her feel unbearably guilty. From where she sat against the trunk of a tree she could hear everything, and Shion's most recent actions felt like a shout out to her own past. Saika had been unusually calm since after killing the wolf, but Shion's expression, which looked so much like Anri's mother's (right before she had killed Father and committed suicide) brought Saika's latent whisperings back.
Fisting her hands in the fabric of her robes, Anri wondered what she was going to do.

Masaomi suppressed the urge to shudder at the way Shion had laughed and instead continued to look at her with a face unphased by her words. He leaned forward slightly and rested his chin on both of his hands, fingers intertwined. "Well then just leave all that stuff out. I'm not leaving until you feel better,"

Shion's smile dropped, and she looked away from him, letting her eyes be hidden by her long hair. "I only came here to cry without being tormented, Masaomi-kun. It's something I've been needing to do for a long time, since even before I got here." She walked back over to him and knelt before him, keeping her eyes down. "I hate for you to see me like this..."

There were two main things that she could do, and both were bad options.
Firstly, she could wait it out (but risk discovery) and try to forget the entire experience. This was dangerous though, because Shion would either find out eventually through her behavior, or the guilt would make Anri tell Shion herself.
Secondly, she could reveal her presence, but Shion could react badly to her sudden appearance. Shion herself had just said that she simply wanted to cry in peace, and Anri coming out of nowhere was rather disruptive and an invasion of privacy. Though, to be honest, Masaomi had already come and was attempting to comfort Shion.
Taking out her wand, Anri balanced it on its tip and resolved that if it fell towards the forest she would stay, but if it fell towards the field she would come out.

"Well then I simply won't look~" He said somewhat light heartedly, in an effort to lighten the atmosphere somewhat, scrunching his eyes together for added effect. "if you don't want to talk then, that's alright. I can just sit here and keep you company, if you could indulge in my selfish request."
He reached forward and smoothed out her messy hair that the rain had gotten to. "Friends are always there to support you, right?" He grinned, recalling back to what they had told Fenris the first time they had all really met.

Shion wiped her eyes, even though the rain would only re-wet them, and nuzzled her head into his chest. "I just..." his hand petting her hair calmed her, "I just want someone to be my friend, no matter what my past is like..." She sniffled pathetically. Perhaps it would be better to tell someone? She was going to tell Anri, but after the forest incident, she never had the chance.
