Fenris walked out onto the field, smiling. In his hand he clasped a Nimbus 2000, albiet one that was very worse for the wear. The morning air was crisp, almost perfect for his tastes. He'd never flown before, but Amitola had, and he wanted to get the upperhand on her before their date later that afternoon. Admittedly, she'd never SAID it was a date, but that's what he was calling it.
He put the broom on the ground in front of him and stared at it. So... Maybe he hadn't quite thought this through. Now what was he supposed to do?

"She certainly has a short patience, at least around me." Coco followed the girl's encouraging and flew over to Mac, landing on his outstretched arm. "But we still get along!" He tickled her chest again, and Coco hooted back. "Sure, I'll forgive you this time, but next time, there'll be no treats." She bit him on the finger affectionately.
Mac turned back to the girl who had helped catch Coco. "Thanks again. And Coco thanks you for the mouse, too. My name's Mac. What's yours?"

"I'm Shion. It's a pleasure, Mac." She grinned, and held out a hand towards the Ravenclaw boy. "And you too, Coco." She patted the owl's head lightly, softly cooing at it. "She's beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen an owl of this coloration before."

"Nice to meet you too, Shion," he replied politely, shaking her extended hand. Coco remained still as the girl pet her on the head. "I had never seen one like her, either, until I found her in the back of the Owl Emporium on Diagon Alley. She didn't seem to get along with the other owls, so I bought her. She's very beautiful, and she knows it too," he joked. Coco stretched out her wings, as if adjusting herself on his arm, and just happened to hit him on the head. He glared at her. "We were just on our way to the Quidditch pitch; she likes flying through the hoops."

"Aw, how precious!" she giggled, watching the owl stretch out her wings. "Maybe she should play as the Quaffle in our next game." She glanced around, not really looking for anything, just to get an estimate of the time. "I don't want to go to classes today..." she groaned, more to herself than to Mac.

Mac wasn't sure if Shion was joking or not. "Um, no, I don't think that would be a very good idea. She wouldn't like that too much." He shuffled on his feet for a moment until Shion's next sentence broke his thoughts. He looked at her, horrified. "Why would you want to miss class? There's so much we can learn from them! Don't you want to know how to fully control your magic? Or see new creatures? Or...or..." He was so worked up, he couldn't even finish his explanation.

Fenris heard the voices and looked up. He recognized Shion, her green hair was unmistakable, even at a distance. She was with a shorter, younger boy. He looked slightly like the boy from the Hospital Wing earlier that day, but he couldn't really tell. He hadn't really paid him much mind the first time. It seemed Shion had made some comment that had angered the Ravenclaw. Probably about studying or classes or something, since whatever it was had gotten him into quite a tizzy.

Shion glanced at him with wide eyes. "Woah, easy now. I'm only kidding. About the bird, too." She smiled. "I'm a sixth year, there's not too much more I can learn. But I did just transfer here this year, so I suppose you're right."

Mac gulped; maybe he had gotten a little too worked up there. "Oh, I didn't know that. But still, there's always more things we can learn." He was glad that she was joking about Coco, though, and Coco seemed to share his sympathies. She walked up his arm and shoulder to settle on his head instead. "So you transferred? I didn't even know you could do that."

Shion chuckled, closing her eyes. "Yeah, well, I was special..." The memories made her smirk in a seemingly devious manner. Suddenly changing her mood, she looked back at him, grinning happily.

Fenris crouched next to his broomstick, and watched. He found that a lot of his time at Hogwarts was just taken up by observing conversations. If he listened carefully, he could almost here what they were saying. Something about transferring? He did notice that Shion was a new student this year, even after being older than he was. He'd never seen her in the castle. He decided to sit here, for a little bit, listening.

As Shion spoke to Mac, she had failed to notice her precious hawk circling high above her head. It wasn't until the graceful creature landed on her shoulder that she noticed it. The hawk took the same perch the owl had, almost glaring at it for coming near her master.
Shion nuzzled the bird softly. "Good to see you my friend~" She scoffed a little to herself. "My only friend..." she whispered. Realizing what a pathetic statement that was, she looked to Mac in embarrassment. "I mean, I have friends, just not here yet!" She smiled nervously and laughed. "I don't mean to sound pathetic."

"I didn't mean to pry," Mac said apologetically, afraid he might have brought up something unpleasant for the girl. But her smile seemed to suggest otherwise, and was honestly a little creepy. A hawk landed on Shion's shoulder and she said something about it being her only friend. "No, I can understand a little. Nobody at my old school wanted to even come near me. But I've been able to make a few friends here." Two pink haired people came to mind at this statement. "I'm sure you will, too, if you just open yourself up to meeting new people." He smiled at her, then stroked Coco's head. "I have to get going soon if I want to get in some training for Coco before class."

"Well then, you go on ahead. I'll see you around, perhaps." She smiled. "Have fun Coco!" She stroked the bird's feathers one last time, earning a jealous nip to the ear from her own bird, and walked towards the castle, unaware of Fenris' presence.

Fenris watched the hawk land on Shion's shoulder, and noticed how she said she didn't have friends. Really? Tons of people on campus adored her. He figured she'd have tons of friends. At least, she should have Kida. The boy was bordering on obsession. However, he WAS like that around most girls, but Shion seemed to have a soft spot in his heart particularly.
That hawk seriously creeped him out though. It would show up in random places. Why couldn't she just have an owl, like most students, or a non-threatening (accept to Amitola) cat? OR even a frog. Frogs weren't creepy and sat in rafters following people. He watched her go and was glad that she was taking the creepy bird with her. "Shion!" He raised one hand in greeting.
