Jim had been meandering around the school grounds, trying to get used to the layout of classrooms and other important places he should know about. Being a first year at Hogwarts was cool, yet difficult and way different from the muggle world that he was used to. He walked around the outside of the school and discovered a stadium with odd rings that stood hundreds of feet off the ground. Intrigued, he ran to the middle of the stadium and looked around. It was a plain field, no markings on the ground, no nets, nor things that resembled goals… unless those high rings were supposed to be goal hoops…
"But that would mean… the only possible way to get anything up there would be to fly… But how?”
Was there some sort of special spell that made you fly? Did you have to ride on a dragon? Wouldn’t that be dangerous? his thoughts were racing through his head. All he knew is that he wanted to be able to fly.
“I can build something to get me up there! Yeah, I’ll build a type of surfboard that can fly!" He plopped down on the ground and took some paper and his quill out of his backpack and began to plan and design a flying surfboard.

“Ugh, it’s so groggy out here…” Shion mumbled to herself as she traipsed through the wet grass. She didn’t really have a destination; although she had been told that the view of the sun rising from the Quidditch Field was spectacular. As she approached the large stadium, she saw stairs leading to the stands. At the bottom, she looked up, cracking her neck in the process. “It’s so tall… So many stairs…” With a heavy sigh, she began to make her journey up the stairs at a fast pace, so as to not miss the morning’s beauty.

Jim got finished sketching his plans and sat back on one knee looking them over. Now all I have to do is find the parts and put it together! He was so excited to fly and he was just about to start looking for the equipment he needed when he heard something creaking up in the stands. It startled him, so he hid just in the shadows of the stadium, watching to see who was coming.

Huffing and puffing, Shion finally made it to the top of the stairs, and nearly collapsed on the floor in front of her. “Oh God, I’m gunna die!!” She rolled onto a seat, looking out into the horizon, a smile upon her face. “Ah, lovely…"

The noise had come from the Green haired girl in his Charms class; he silently peered from the shadows, carefully watching her. What is she doing out here? she was just sitting there, doing… something…

Actually, she was doing absolutely nothing, aside from watching the orange sun rise over the dark green forest. The warmth of the morning light on her face tempted her eyes closed, and her body relaxed against her seat. She did not yet notice another presence, knowing that no one in their right mind would be out so early on the Quidditch Field; another reason why this is a perfect time for Shion.

I should have enough time before my next class! Marshall Lee thought as he made his way down to the Quidditch field. It had been a while since he had last been on his broom [okay, so maybe two hours wasn't that long, but it really was!] and he really wanted to get a ride in, or at least just float around for a while. That wasn't too bad, was it? Well, considering he may be about half an hour late to his next class... Nah. No big deal. He shrugged, a smile appearing on his face as the field came into sight. His pace quickened until he was on the edge of the field, smiling and taking a deep breath of that fresh air and-- What were two other people doing here? No. This was his time. His time.

The only thing to tear Shion's attention from this beautiful morn is the sound of a broom slicing through the air. She gasped and leapt to her feet, her wand in hand. However, she could only hear the broom approaching, not see it. She spun around frantically, her paranoia running rampant.

Landing quickly, Marshall Lee decided to wait it out. It wasn't like what's-her-face-Shion and that first year could stay here forever. They'd have to go to classes eventually! They were good students... I think.
Marshall stretched out underneath the stands, laying his broom beside him. Wish I had my bass He thought absentmindedly. It would help pass the time. Oh well. Guess I could just write songs... Or sleep. Sleep is good. He yawned, as if to prove his point.

Jim’s attention to Shion was suddenly disrupted with the sound of … what was that sound anyways?… he looked around, he knew it was above him, but he couldn’t see a thing… then he saw it, someone was riding on a… Broomstick!?!? What? Then it snapped, So that’s what they use… maybe he would know how to play this game! Jim completely forgot about his concern for Shion and bolted towards the mysterious flyer.

The sound of flight ceased quite rapidly, and Shion allowed her shoulders to relax; but the sound of running footsteps made her look over the edge. She spotted Jim, who she had only seen in class and maybe in the halls. Him? Oh, he’s no threat to me. She put her wand away and began to make her way down the stairs, for the sun had risen, and her classes would start soon.

Walking in the early morning light, Mac meandered around the grounds, a barn owl clutching to his shoulder. He rubbed his finger against her white chest feathers and fished in his pocket to hand her a treat. She devoured it greedily, snapping at his fingers in thanks. The top of her head was a ruddy red color, while the feathers on her wings and more of a blueish-gray color. She had stood out to him as soon as he had walked into the Owl Emporium and he bought her without a second thought. They had gotten so close, he liked to think he could understand what she "said", and usually he guessed right.
A bite to his ear brought his attention back to his owl. "What do you want now?" She hooted impatiently. "Sorry, I only have one more insect cluster." She hooted again. "No, You're just gonna have to wait till tonight for the last one." Shooting him a glare, she took off in the air with a flurry of blue feathers. "Ah, wait, no! Come back Coco!" But she was already soaring off towards the Quidditch field. He smacked his forehead in frustration and took off after her.

While on her way out of the stadium, Shion noticed an interestingly colored owl soaring in her direction. With a small whistle, she attempted to get its attention. It was then she saw the boy chasing it. She smiled. “Did your bird get away from you?” she called, before letting out a louder whistle, that should have caught the owl’s attention. She did not have any insect treats, but for her hawk, she carried small dead mice, one of which she held out towards the owl.

Coco veered in her path, soaring straight at the girl who held out a dead mouse for her. She alighted on her shoulder and made a grab for the mouse, hoping to pry it out of the girl's fingers.
Mac caught up and stopped in front of the Slytherin girl, placing his hands on his knees and trying to catch his breath. "Yeah...thanks...for the...help..." He smiled up at her, watching Coco. She semed to be staring smugly at him, as if to say 'Ha! I did get more food!'

Shion laughed softly, stroking the birds chest feathers with one hand as her other fed the greedy owl. "You're welcome. I know how hard it is to catch a bird that simply doesn't want to listen." She looked at the owl, and motioned with her head towards the boy. "Go on, back to your friend."
