Shion entered the library, a Slytherin scarf wrapped tightly around her neck, covering the bottom half of her face. The Fall weather was cold and nipped at her skin, especially now when it was dark, and so she bundled up, even as she walked the halls.
She chose an empty table, and took a seat, sprawling her History of Magic books in front of her. She patiently awaited Edge's arrival. She had arrived a bit earlier than she had requested, just in case the ninja-boy decided to come early as well.

Edge tore down the hallway towards the library, frantically checking that he had all of his study materials with him. Books, check. Quill and paper, check. Wand, check. Mask... His hand flew to his face. He forgot his mask. He was about to turn around and grab it from his room, but he was late as is. He had been training outside when his watch went off, signaling he had less then a minute to get to the library and help Shion. Cutting to the present, he literally slammed the doors open, tripping on something that was by the entrance. He tumbled and collided with a bookshelf, clutching his face in pain. He got up, ignoring the protests of his face, and sat down at the table where Shion was. He fixed his slightly-messier-than-normal hair, took a deep breath, and smiled. "So, Shion-hime, how are you?"

Shion began to remove her cloak as she waited. It was growing increasingly hot in the room. Suddenly, the doors flew open, causing her to nearly jump out of her seat. She watched in horror as Edge's face collided with a book case. "Edge-san!" She made a move to stand, wanting to help him, but then she noticed... He had no mask. She blushed, casting her eyes to the floor. "Are you okay? You hit that book case hard..."

Edge shrugged as if these things happened to him often. "it's no big deal. I've hurt myself worse before." He made a move to pull down his mask before he realized he'd forgotten it. Again. He blushed slightly. "Uh, you're probably wondering about my mask..."

Shion smiled. "No, it's fine. I was bound to see you without it someday." She certainly wasn't complaining. He was quite handsome.
She opened her book and stared blankly at it for a moment. "So, ah... History."

"Right. Probably want to get started on that." Edge pulled his own book out, already crammed with assorted notes and commentary, hoping to avoid talking about his less-than-graceful entrance. He cracked his neck and smiled. "Where do we begin?"

Looking at his notes, Shion felt inferior. She heaved a sigh and slumped in her chair. "I don't know... History confuses me. I'm more of a charms girl."

Edge frowned. "How can History be confusing? It's really just the world's longest story, still in production." He shook his head slightly. "I'm aware that History isn't your strong suit, but I do need a place to start to help."

"Erg..." Shion flipped through a few pages in the book, and then pointed to one she remembered from their earlier class. "Here." She looked up at him. She hated feeling stupid, which is why she needed help, but that also made her feel stupid. She had never paid attention to history, since she was practically forced to remember all her family's past, because most of the time it was horrible. Wars and death and lies. Shion may have a dark past of her own, but it didn't mean she liked knowing about other people's sins.

Edge nodded. "okay. I can work with this." He pulled out a quill and explained things the way he usually remembered them: convert it into a ridiculously cutesy story. "see, it all started when these two wizards got into a bit of a fight..." He even added little drawings to help enforce certain points.

Shion heard him speaking, but the words weren't sinking in. This was her major problem in class. However, the drawings... Suddenly, she could see the story playing out, and it made so much more sense like that. Her eyes widened as he continued, and she nodded, actually receiving what he was giving her. "Ah, Edge-san!"

Edge smiled. " I used to have the same problem until I found a textbook where someone had drawn out the actions in the margins. It made 50% more sense once I realized I could use drawings to convey the message, sometimes better than a paragraph of text." He looked over at Shion. "So, it helped, right?"

"It did! It did!" She was so happy, she finally understood! Absentmindedly, she hugged Edge, her eyes never leaving the paper. "I just have to draw what I hear in class from now on! I won't fail!" She grinned brightly.

"ah... you're welcome..." Edge stuttered slightly. He wasn't quite used to displays of affection from people he wasn't related to. Hesitantly, he hugged the girl back.

As he hugged back, Shion began to realize what she had done. "Oh, ah, sorry!" Blushing, she released him, and placed her hands in her lap.
