Edge nodded in agreement. "" He threw a lopsided grin in Rydia's direction. "[If you'd like, we could travel together. There's a lot of things out there, and only one lifetime to see them.]"

"Ah!" Shion looked up at him with wide, excited eyes as he said that. "[You mean it? That sounds like so much fun!]" She giggled, thinking about all the wonderful things the world has to offer.

Edge laughed lightly. "[Of course I do! I'm not the type to purposely lie to someone, especially not a girl. Especially ESPECIALLY not a friend.]" Edge's smile faltered for a second. "[Wait, you're a year younger than me. How will this work?]"

Shion looked down, thinking on this. That is a problem that couldn't be ignored, could it? She sighed. "[Uhm... What if, you go on without me. Find some places that you love, then come back for me, and take me to go see them?]" She grinned.

Edge paused. This idea could work, but if his memory served him correctly, it very rarely did. He pulled off a bracelet with the kanji for 'hope' carved into it. "[This was a gift my mother gave me when I was a child,]" Edge said as he tied it around Shion's wrist, "[and I'm giving it to you so that we won't forget the promise I'm about to make. I swear on my parent's lives that once you graduate, I will be back to take you with me to see the world.]" Edge looked at Shion, a small smile forming on his face. "[Can't wait till that day comes, personally.]"

Shion's eyes widened as he tied the beautiful bracelet around her wrist. Blush quickly filled her cheeks, and her smile grew. "[Edge... It's beautiful. But,]" she looked up at him, a bit of concern in her eyes, "[it's so special to you... I won't lose it, or harm it, but are you sure you're willing to let me have this for so long?]"
However, that wasn't the only thing bothering her. For one, her feelings for Masaomi were biting at her heart, telling her she was leading Edge in the wrong direction. And for another, rather large reason... He didn't know her past. Masaomi did, and he was still a good friend of hers. Would Edge treat her the same, if he knew too?
Shion gulped a bit, her eyes now looking a bit regretful as she eyed the bracelet. Maybe she shouldn't have made such a promise with Edge. Seeing the world was something she had wanted to do, and with someone to share it with, it would be that much better. But her heart ached.

Edge nodded, his expression completely serious. "" Edge grinned broadly, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder.

Shion placed her hand over his, giving it a soft squeeze. She was still so unsure. Cautiously, she slipped the bracelet onto her wrist, her eyes never leaving it. "[It's so beautiful...]"

Edge laughed lightly. "[I'll be sure to tell my mother that the next time I see her. She spent quite a bit of time working on that, and she honestly called it the most time-consuming thing she'd ever done.]" He smiled broadly, obviously in a very good mood,

Shion grinned back at him, and hugged him softly. "[Thank you so much!]"

Edge shrugged and hugged the younger girl. "[No problem for a master of the hidden arts of the shinobi.]" He sat back down in his chair, mind drifting to assorted times he'd said the same thing to Rydia.

Shion released him and leaned back in her chair, pulling her knees to her chest. Her mind wandered to the dance, and then, to Masaomi. Guilt beat at her heart then, and she turned sad eyes to Edge. "[Edge-san, can I tell you something?]"

Edge absentmindedly twirled a quill in between his fingers as he replied. "[Sure thing!]" He grinned broadly.

Shion did the same as him, only twirling a lock of hair in her fingers instead of a quill. "[Well, you see, I feel like I've been sending you... The wrong message...]" She blushed, her eyes focusing on her feet now.

Edge blinked. "[What?]" He was completely lost. What was Shion talking about?
