Shion's eyes widened. "No, no, I don't mean it like that!" She blushed, shaking her head. "I-I meant that... Well, you asked me, and if I showed up in Anri's body, it would be confusing, wouldn't it?"
She felt awful now, saying such a thing to him. She looked away, her embarrassed blush still shining on her cheeks. "I'm sorry, Edge-kun, I didn't mean it like that."

Edge smiled. "It's fine, Shion, I know that." He placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Besides, I can't be upset with a friend. It's just not me." He laughed lightly.

Her shoulders relaxed as he touched her, and she smiled, sighing in relief. "Ah, that's good..." Her blush faded to a light pink.

Edge laughed lightly. "I swear, I find another reason to love this school every day." He smiled sadly. "It kind makes me sad to to think that this is my last year here..."

Shion raised a brow. "Another reason to love? What's that?" As his last sentence hit her, she felt a bit saddened as well. She would be a seventh year soon, and then she'd have to leave... What would she do? She didn't even have any career options, not after what she'd done.

Edge laughed lightly. "When I first came here, I knew absolutely no one and everyone was too weirded out by the freaky ninja kid. Now, here I am, in my seventh year, with friends who mostly understand me-" He paused to look at Shion, "-and a definite plan for my future." He absentmindedly fiddled with a quill he left on the table. "This place made me who I am today, and I have a lot to be thankful for."

Shion smiled as she listened to him. "That's very nice. I don't see why anyone would be freaked out by you, you're very talented." her eyes drifted towards a window, looking out into the dark, And charming. she thought.

Edge blushed. "Well, that's today, now that people are used to seeing me. When I first arrived, barely able to speak English, I was the butt of multiple jokes. No one wanted to even sit near me, and for at least a year I was a total loner." His mind drifted back to his horrible excuse for a first year and, involuntarily, he shuddered.

Shion giggled a little. "[It's okay, I know how you feel. That's how I was when I first went to the Salem Witches Institute.]" she grinned at him, having spoken to him completely in her native language of Japanese. She assumed this was a language he spoke, too.

Edge blinked as Shion relpied to him in his native language. He knew the girl was Japanese, (kind of hard to not tell with her name) but he never figured she'd speak it. ["You speak Japanese?!"] He replied incredulously.

"[Of course! I was born in Japan, and grew up there.]" It was actually easier for her to speak in Japanese as opposed to English. Even though she lived in an English-speaking country, sometimes she would get tongue-twisted with it.

Edge laughed in sheer amazement. ["thank goodness for that! It's so much easier to speak in Japanese for me. English I find too repetitive and confusing."]

Shion nodded in agreement. "[Yeah, I know. But I do like speaking English sometimes. It's just nice to talk to someone who understands Japanese.]" She leaned back in her seat, propping her feet up on the table. "[Masaomi-kun speaks Japanese as well, I think. He's from Japan like us.]"

Edge spun his quill in between his fingers, nodding in agreement. ["I'm aware of that. I think I heard him talking to someone in Japanese, but it could just be my imagination."] He sighed as he peeled off his sweater. ["It's oddly warm in here,"] he murmured to no one in particular.

"Yeah, it is.." she spoke, back in English. They were running out of things to talk about fast, which would make the atmosphere awkward. Shion blushed at the thought.
