"Ah, Edge-san..." Her heart sank a bit for him. She gripped his shoulder softly, her eyes full of compassion. "I know what it's like to lose someone you love. It's difficult..." She closed her eyes and dropped her head. "But it's also something... that's a hindrance."

Edge tilted his head at Shion's comment. "Hindrance? How so?"

"Well... For me, it put a heavy cloud over my other relationships. My friends and I weren't the same... And as if my family relationship could get any better. I hated my grandmother." As she spat out the last sentence, Shion snarled and turned her nose up, as if snubbing the woman who wasn't even there.

Edge sat and listened to Shion. "Well, I guess we both have come from less-than-pleasant backgrounds." Edge lightly hugged the younger Slytherin girl. "The thing is to not let it affect our futures, I suppose. Staying angry or sad over things that happened won't really help anyone." The ninja smiled lightly in an attempt to brighten the mood a bit.

As he hugged her, Shion's cheeks flushed red. She gently returned the gesture, sighing at his words. "You're right. But..." her cheeks grew darker, and she looked down, trying to make her hair hide her embarrassed, yet sad face, "Masaomi-kun... looks just like him..." she gulped, "And I can't help but miss him..."

Edge placed his hand on Shion's shoulder. "And you remind me of Rydia every time I see you. I get that you miss whoever it may be, and I know it hurts like hell when you think about them. I'm in the same boat as you on this." He lightly smiled. "I guess that makes us more alike than we would think, eh?"

Shion smiled softly. "His name is Satoshi... and yes. I miss him very much." She placed a hand over her heart, as if she could feel him there. "Only... Rydia is still alive..." she began to chew on her lower lip, fighting back the painful memories, "And Satoshi... was killed. As far as I know."

Edge unconciously drew in a breath sharply. The person Shion missed, Satoshi, was dead. He honestly wasn't expecting that. "I... I'm sorry..." He placed a hand over Shion's in an attempt to comfort her.

While small tears did well in her eyes, she shook them away. No need to cry now. "It's fine. He might not be dead, but... knowing my family..." She wiped at her eyes.

Edge wrapped his arms around the girl in an attempt to comfort the poor Slytherin girl. No person should suffer for their feelings the way that Shion had. He sighed deeply. "I wish that there was a way I could help you, but if he truly has passed on to the next world, well, even ninjas have limitations."

Shion was shaking in his arms, and pressed herself against his chest, seeking some sort of comfort. However, she was shaking from sadness or despair... A giggle leaked out. Then another. Suddenly Shion burst into a fit of squeaky laughter, her eyes as wide as the grin on her face. "But they paid, they all paid! Satoshi-kun is happy with me, because everyone who hurt him was punished for their sins!" She laughed some more, clutching her skirt in her hands. Memories like this always made her symptoms... flare up. In the most insane ways.

Edge's eyes widened as Shion began to laugh. He had never seen this side of her, and it began to scare him. At the "punished for their sins" comment, Edge's eyes narrowed. He'd seen people like this before, shinobi from his village who grew too accustomed to death and murder. Pieces were beginning to fall together inside the shinobi-in-training's head, and the answer sickened him. "Shion... what did you do?" He murmured under his breath.

When he spoke, it was like a spell was broken. Shion blinked, and her smile faded. Time for her acting skills to be put back into action. She looked up at him, confusion in her eyes. "What do you mean? I didn't do anything, Edge-san..." It would seem she was back to normal. As if nothing had happened. But she knew, she knew all to well what she had done.
Seeing how angry he suddenly looked, Shion's eyebrows furrowed, and she scooted away from him, placing a hand on her cheek. "Ah, Edge...?"

Edge didn't believe Shion for a second. He knew something had happened, he was sure of it. He decided to let the subject go for now. No need to make things strained between the two. He sighed as he gently took Shion's hand in his own, lowering it from his face. ["It's nothing, Shion-hime. I was just worried for you..."] he replied in Japanese.

Shion smiled softly, sadly, and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "[Thank you... But, it's all over now. When I graduate, I don't plan to go home...]" She turned her eyes back to the window. "[It's all behind me, now...]"
