Doyle gave a start as Shion quickly stood up and began to walk in a random direction. "Hey! Don't just walk off! These woods are dangerous; you don't know what could be off that way!" As if to prove his point, another howl pierced the air. It sounded closer this time and came from the direction Shion was walking towards.

Rita shrugged and approached closer so she could see him better. "Beats me....you don't remember anything either, do you?"

Raising his bluebell-flame-in-a-jar a little so that they could both see one another better, Fai shook his head, still smiling albeit a bemused smile. "How odd...." the howl made the blonde jump, clenching the wand in his other hand. "Even though i can't recall why I thought i needed to be out here" he lied a little, not wanting to admit he came out to the Forest at least once a month "...I get the distinct feeling that I don't want to be out here now...."

At the sound of the howl Rita jumped, "We need to get out of here, now." She said tersely, gripping her wand tighter. The situation they were finding themselves in was feeling less and less like some kind of accident, or spell gone wrong.

Another nod of agreement and Fai peered into the darkness of the trees. "Sure....uh...which way?"

Shion jumped at the howl, and scampered back towards the two men; but then, she remembered. "Oh! Professor Blackwell!" She looked at the teacher, her eyes filled with worry. "There are other students here, we have to find them, please!" She was referring to the two students she had left behind with no recollection of how they even got here. The others, she knew, were with professor Fluttershy, and would probably be safe with her. Probably. Hopefully.

"....." And that was the icing on the cake. The exact words Rita did not want to hear. She groaned loudly and put her hand to her forehead, hanging her head in frustration. "Dammit..."

From that reaction, it seemed his new 'friend' hadn't wanted to hear that at all; Fai gave a sheepish grin. "Sorry....well....this path seems familiar..." he nodded to the one that they were close by...and on closer inspection, he could see what appeared to be footprints....he assumed they were reasonably fresh, though they were little more than vague impressions. "I'd say it was this way, judging by the footprints..."
Ok, he wasn't 100% sure...but he was good at bluffing. He pointed in the direction he considered to be best. After all, the howling wasn't coming from this direction, the trees seemed to be less dense (from what he could make out) and it was the best he could guess without shimmying himself up the nearest tree.

"Wait...." Rita stood in thought for a moment, thinking hard. Sure, the footprints there were probably caused by one of them, but there was also another possibility. "How do we know those aren't the footprints of whoever left us out here?"

"The short answer is we don't....but I think i'd rather take my chances with a hypothetical person who might or might not have messed with us...over whatever is howling in the other direction..." he pointed out logically. They were armed, and if it had been a magic user who 'helped' them out into the Forest, at least they stood a chance of fighting back. On the other hand, they had no idea what creature they might face in the other direction....and a wand was no great protection against teeth and claws.

".........I guess you have a point." Rita begrudgingly conceded. She still wasn't happy about it. She couldn't imagine herself being stranded out here without foul play, plus even if they were to run into said person and able to fight back, how would they fare against someone who had already succeeded in subduing them once? She continued mulling the thought over as she began walking slowly along the 'path' they had discovered.

Tense still, but trying not to show it, Fai walked cautiously alongside the Slytherin. He vaguely recognised her face the more he thought about it, but a name wasn't coming to him. Whether it was because he didn't know it, or because he was still kind of dazed from whatever had happened, he wasn't sure. He kept his wand ready in one hand, the lightsource out in the other. "....So...I'm not sure we've been properly introduced....I'm Fai, what's your name?" he tried to sound cheerful, distracting himself from the situation.

He was glad when Shion scampered back towards them, but her next words did nothing to brighten his mood. "Just great," he muttered, mostly to himself, throwing his hands up in the air in exasperation, "do all you kids have a death wish?" Sighing, he looked around. How was he even supposed to find these two other kids, in the middle of a vast forest, in the middle of the night? There was one spell he thought would be able to help, but it would be difficult. "Both of you, I need you to be quiet for a moment while I attempt this spell. I should then be able to use it to find the other two and lead them back here." Closing his eyes, he cleared his mind, filling it instead with the happiest memories he could remember. Flying through the air on his brand-new firebolt; winning the Quidditch World Cup with his teammates; seeing his newborn nephew for the first time. Expecto Patronum, he whispered, and opened his eyes to see the corporeal form of his Patronus flapping its wings in front of him. Giving the Kite, the small bird of prey, some directions, he sent it off in the woods, hoping it could find the missing students soon.

As he instructed, Shion fell deathly silent. She began to feel awful for leaving the two behind with no memory of how to get out, but her paranoia of being caught got the best of her. Her eyes widened at the beautiful spell that was cast, and watched in awe as the bird took off. "Ah.." she squeaked.

Turning back to the two students, he noticed Shion staring after the bird in amazement. He grinned at her. "Have you never seen a Patronus charm before?" He hoped to get their attention on a conversation so that neither could start feeling scared at whatever might be approaching them in the forest. Still, he kept a tight grip on his wand.
The Kite flew above the trees of the Forbidden Forest, taking in a birds-eye view of its surroundings. With its sharp precise eyes, it could spot a rodent on the forest floor with ease; two students would be no trouble to find at all. Moving in a circular pattern, it finally caught sight of two wandering figures, a ways from its creator. Diving down, it landed on a branch directly in front of them, bathing their faces in an eerie blue light.
((OOC: I hope what I did with the Patronus, taking control of it like that, is ok.))
